I installed the CABS as directed here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593753

However, I could not get the program to start.

It seems to work for HTC touchpro 2 and some have reported it works on HD2, Acer F1 and others.

Just want to know if anybody else has got it to work... it seems to have an interesting facebook panel which I wouldnt mind trying out.

I did get it up and running (another version) with a lot of work prior to going to one of Darks rom's. If I recall it had something to do with certs. and Java being installed first. Problem I found was that it ran a little slow (for me anyway) and you could not change any of the tabs and most didn't apply to our device as we didn't have the supporting apps.

That being said this version seems better and I've read through the first few pages and notice no mention of java... so I'm not sure.

Thought I give you my 2 cents worth Wink

My main problem is that I install OK, but the program won't actually launch.

You can see the processes running in the background but no panels.

That's what mine was doing at first. I used a lot of the X2's apps at first (dialer, comm. mgr and task mgr) and only had issues with the panel module. By the time I got it working and the time I spent getting there it wasn't worth it....lol.

I'd check to see if there's any reference to java as that’s what corrected mine to work (all kinda fuzzy... it's been some time since I played around with it). I know the X2 dialer was giving me issues after Darks new roms as it always answered on speakerphone no matter what I did so I left the X2 apps behind after that.

Woodhole,

Could you expand a little on the java issues that you had with original panels, please.

I tried googling but couldn't find any details. As part of the installation process for the x2 panel manager you need to install myriad java. Do you think that this might have something to do with it?

That be it! On my original install of panels they assumed you already had java installed. That was my first issue but there was something else I had to do but can't recall what it was. I'm knee deep in IT issues right now (one of them being our internet keeps dropping off, not good when customer support lives on-line). I'll dig up what I found on it and post my findings when the dust settle around here.

The only other issue I recall is that some of the X2 modules didn't uninstall cleanly and did leave some side effects. Again no details that I can nail down. Within 2 week I went from the X2 stuff to the Sense UI (almost fully working) to SPB shell completely customized... kinda stuck with SPB

...

Found this and it rings a bell (just not sure what version this is):
http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2009/12/05/install-and-run-se-xperia-x2-panel-manager-panels-on-your-htc-windows-mobile.html

Again, I'll dig through what I have when I get time and update.

That's the version I tried to install. However, issues as noted above.

Do you think the myriad java could be conflicting with the expos onboard java?

Anyway thanks for the responses so far.

Truth be told, I didn't know the expo even came with java in the first place....lol
The more I think about it the more I recall java having something to do with it. Worst case I'll reinstall it on the weekend and see if I can get it back to where it was before. It's been some time since I've messed up my phone anyway Tongue

Hey keithyv,

I hadn't forgot about you. I can't get it working on my current rom no matter what I try Sad
It did work with the OEM rom (way back when with a lot of work) but no go with this one (build 23563.5.5.0)

I'll keep playing with it when I have time but so far it's a dud!

What a bummer.

Some of the panels looked quite good.

Not sure what needs to be done to get it working.

This thread is too funny; I spent hours trying to get any trace of those damn panels OFF my X1 (not to mention remapping the hard-coded panel button) Smiley
