For the noobies the easiest way is as follows.
Go to post 13 of the thread I linked to above and download the attached zip folder.
Follow the directions and unzip it to the folder detailed.
Install Mortscript 4.2 from here
http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=view&entry=65run the config file within the folder you unzipped the zip folder.
Use the on the fly option and just keep upping mic gain until you get what you want.

I've run the mortscript, but if i want this change to be automatically applied on each reboot without having to go into the mortscript GUI, could I creating a shortcut in the /windows/startup folder with the following target:
"\Storage Card\Expo\bagctrl.exe" /v15 /m15 /n
