Strange things started to happen with my At&t LG Expo.
Please tell me if this is normal behavior;
FYI, I have a data plan.

When I open my Market Place app a message pops up saying "connecting to media net" then, after this message closes the Market Place app minimizes and disappears to the background. I have to use the multitask button to access the app.

One more...
In Wireless Manager;
The data connection button turns itself on. Is it possible leaving this function off?

I have had similar experience with Market Place. I don't use it often, so it's not that big a deal for me.

Do you mean wifi? My wifi only comes on when I turn it on and I have it set to turn itself off when not connected for more than 1 minute.

No not the Wifi.  I mean the data connection button. I tried to set it to off position but it turned on by itself.  I'm baffled.... Huh Embarrassed I'm sure there is something I'm doing wrong but I can't figure it out.

So that I know we're talking about the same thing, you have opened the Wireless Manager and clicked Menu. You click Disconnect Cellular Data but under Phone it still shows you connected to your Wireless provider, i.e. Media Net?

Yes, sort of.
In Wireless manager  from the top down;
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi Off with configure button
Bluetooth
Phone

Data Connection
and at the bottom
More Settings.

The Data Connection button is almost impossible to toggle off and on.
Now, every time media net is accessed a dialog window comes up "connecting to Media Net. Connecting to GPRS 3G."
Never had this happen before.

Thanks for taking the time helping me.

My time is your time, Bro. But as I say, long time since LG rom.  I got: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Phone and then in the task bar, Start bubble, show Keyboard, Menu 'n X. Maybe someone on stock rom can chime in. I don't have Data connection or more setings.

Yeah...The LG Roms are few and far between. Would be cool if we could
upgrade OTA(over the air) like Blackberry. This is too much to hope for I guess....

Peace!

Hey guys, I wonder if you are talking about the Data and Cell signal switches, for lack of better words.

Like if you click on your signal bar VanillaGorilla, it shows connectivity and length of time on either normal cell or as a data connection, and if the data isn't needed for a while, it sips into sleep mode, turning switch on again.
(As it will turn itself off when not using data and back on when its needed.)

I don't mean to interrupt, it's just the idea I got from it an was wondering if it was the issue at all.

Peace

Have you looked at the Roms available here for your phone?

SOLVED!
Finally..after a lotta back and forth with LGs hopeless horrid Techsupport,
At&t figured it out. They made me turn off my phone and remove the battery,
next they removed my data network connection and re-registered it.

So, put the battery back in, turn on the phone....VIOLA...problem solved. No more connecting to media net 3G pop up bubbles.
