The fingerprint sensor has died without any reason. I don't know why it's dead as well as what caused the problem to fingerprint sensor. I tried to use it but it's unusable, even I tried to hard-reset, it's dead. Sad When I type 3845*#820# and test the fingerprint, the screen report that "ER02 Unable to communicate with sensor" and ... Sad

Aww thats sad indeed,.. It won't scroll selections even?

I don't understand what the Cellular band selection has to do with it though?

The error that shows up is related to the new dialer Dark has been using for last several roms, it is finicky it seems.

If you can't get it work even after flashing back a stock rom, may have to return the phone for a replacement sadly.

Is the coating that covers the bio scanner still on it, or flaking off perhaps, we have seen that before where the coating comes off an it becomes unuseable.

I'm still using the original ROM, I thought it's not depend on the software inside, maybe the hardware problem. I thought I can fix it again (I have fixed the hardware keyboard problem). The the coating of bio scanner is still on it, no scratch, no damage, just stop working. As the error show, I thought the sensor has disconnected to the front button main board or circuit. I can press it to do "OK" but cannot navigate so I thought one of the sockets that sticked the sensor onto the main board has been gaping. I will repair it by myself again and report the success or failure here. :p

If anyone can do that repair, I suspect it is yourself Wink

You obviously went through the sensor settings in the LG menu an all was ok.

Considering where you live in hindsight, your creativity may be your best an only hope.

Well, until we hear back from you with a verdict, my fingers are crossed for you friend.

bk9sw I wonder if it might be a humidity issue because I have had numerous phones, buttons stop working randomly all because off the high humidity level here in Houston, also my fingerprint reader on my expo will sometimes stop working, maybe once every 2-3 weeks and soft reseting does nothing I just wait and it starts working again. Also this humidity problem seems to flare if you were in a dry climate for a while then go to a damp climate.

Hoping a phone with a fingerprint reader and a dual-core processor will exist in the near future

I will try again with this matter. One thing I care about is the size of fingerprint sensor. I have not disassembled the expo yet but I thought the socket will be bigger than two keyboard control chips that I had fixed before. The soldering-iron is small enough to fix it. I thought I will be successful, thanks you WarRaven!

I'm living in Vietnam now, the weather here is hot all the year and obviously low humidity. I know the weather in Houston, Texas that makes electronic devices damage. However, I will try this way and hope it will work again. Thanks man! :p
