I don't think theres one iphone in any coca-cola or pepsi or hp or any other warehouse in world being used in mass numbers like good ole WM. You forget the industrial side of WM, is freaking huge, fed ex, purolator, you name it, airlines, hotels bah. Theres no app for that! WR
Very well put. Once again WM mobile being used as a power tool to help run industries. got to love WM. again to those that like the Iphone please don't take offense. most of the stuff in this thread is opinion. Let's avoid any fighting and keep everything nice and friendly.

iPhone, you have got to be kidding. The iPhone is for the average user. A WM phone are for those advanced users. Also everything is locked down with the iPhone and you can customize practically everything with a WM phone. Sure you can jailbreak an iPhone, but there are still compatibilities issues. I see the iPhone as more of a toy and a Wm phone as a tool. Ultimately it is up to personal tastes. For me it's WM all the way. For others that want something that is easy to use and lacks any challenge it may be the iPhone.

Now I feel better that I got my iPhone rant out.
I am sure that Microsoft would love to have the marketshare that this "toy" enjoys.

You are correct too,.. as WP7 is going after that market with a vengence.
I just feel everyone overlooks where WM has always been the dominant 800lb gorilla and has a real good footing.

Sorry to iPhone useres here, if my voodoo came off strong, Just we/you WM users are a passionate bunch with a deeper interest into our OS, then any amount of solo apps, and it's to be kind of expected that most here will have a preference of the one, over the other.

Hahaha. You sure do have a way with words. Like WR said we WM users are passionate for our OS. Just like I'm sure others are passionate over the OS they hold dear. Being that this is a forum for a phone that supports Wm you are going to find a lot of us that are passionate over WM.

If you're referring to my comments, it's not me fighting!  I like my WM6.5 on my i900 w/ all the cool apps that I have!!  I DO use iphonz to have all my needed apps on the home screen (See, customability! Cheesy).  But it's getting OLD (and NO KBoard!).  I also have a n97 that isn't very customizable, and would like to come back to WM.  I'd like to get the expo, but I want to try before I buy WHEN (!!!) it's available again.  It's the Series7 I'm concerned about.  Expo won't get it -- the newer, better phones will have it, and from what I understand it'll be so vanilla w/ no chance of doing much w/ it!!

My wife has an iphone.. the touch screen on the iphone is 100x better than my IQ... zoom function in safari is also a lot better. Playing music is also a lot better... I like my IQ.. but the interface on the iPhone is pretty great. I just wouldn't allow Telus to force me into a $50 plan to get the phone.. out of principal.

Some features that support my IQ purchase are WM compatible apps.. not being tied to itunes.. customizeable options like voice command are great. Keyboard was a real plus.. though the virtual keyboard on the iPhone is great... and much better than our tiny one.

One thing, right off the bat you have to remember is, the Iphone has a small resolution on a big screen compared to our phones, its like, 320x480 on a 3.5 screen where as we are packing 480x800 onto a 3.2 screen.

Of course its easier to poke a icon on that display, its twice as big and half the resolution, and it shows to me.

Interface? Um, the list of icons i guess is what you mean, yeah, what a mess huh, different wallpaper would be nice too, but that is beyond the scope of its intended function as an application device.

Our portrait keyboard in half-qwerty, is fairly large buttoned, are you using that or the full qwerty in portrait? Full qwerty is a little tough to use in a 4x4 i agree, though i have no issues with half qwerty an xt9.

Off your topic with this, Seems the chassis specs have changed to our favor again, WP7 is not off the shelf, though, in its first release I imagine it would like dumbing down to what we have now even or into  6.5.3 an up.

I'm a die-hard Mac user, but I went with the Expo. My company only supports iPhones, but all our iPhone users have terrible call quality, battery life issues, and the virtual keyboard was a deal killer for me.  I  use my phone for business functionality, not for games and music, and I need to be able to type. I researched and liked the reviews for the Expo and convinced them to let me get one, but basically was told I'm on my own.

I came to the Expo off the Moto Droid, which they had to pry out of my hands. I'm trying to be open minded, and so far the Expo is making me reasonably happy. The interface was disappointing until I purchased SPB Mobile Shell, which made it much more pleasant to use. I am also disappointed in the number of apps available. The Droid had a nice selection of apps, a number of which were either free or very inexpensive. $29.99 for an app is pretty hefty.

My personal issue with the phone is that I am one of those "average" users. I'm not a techie, never will be. I don't mind learning, but I am afraid of screwing up the phone by knowing just enough to be dangerous.

dont be afraid to do the occasional hard reset when you've done something you don't know how to fix.

I  will try to remember the hard reset option the next time I freak myself out.

I will be sure to incorporate backups into my new habits. Thank you.

Also make sure to check out OpnMarket - lots of free or low priced apps. The Windows Mobile Marketplace is pretty much all higher-end apps developed by software companies looking to charge as much for their apps as full OS software, or as close as they can get away with. There are some freebies and cheaper apps, but not a lot.

SPB Mobile Shell is probably one of the priciest apps out there - but it's proven to be worth it, and if you do purchase it, updates are free, and when they do come out eventually with a full new version in a year or two, it's only like $10-12 to upgrade for registered owners.

Just downloaded Omarket. Thank you very much.

I'm happy with SPB Mobile Shell, just had a little sticker shock.

expo vs iphone.... simple.

i had an unlimited data plan and the only way i could upgrade and not loose it was to get another winmo phone. the expo is the only snapdragon phone on at&t so it was an instant win. that and the fact that i refuse to buy myself another apple product (besides my 5g ipd that lives in my car)

the projector also earns it some brownie points

When i went into the AT&T store to buy the expo, I was sad to find out they didn't carry it and most of the employee had no idea what it was untill i mentioned the projector.  They had me look at the Iphone (took all of 10 30 seconds to dislike) the tilt took closer to a minute.  In the end I went home and orderd the expo, and everyday I'm happy with my choice.
