I'm trying to flash the 'g' version to my expo and I'm encountering an issue. I went to the LG site to get the update and when I get to the part about installing the USB driver it only lists GS390GO as the only phone for AT&T.  Is the same driver used with the EXPO? I haven't installed it yet. The updater tells me that my phone is disconnected, yet the phone is connected just not synced. ( I can browse the phone from my PC and connect to the internet with the PC through the phone).

I had to install a new hard drive on my laptop and for some reason I can't get exchange to work with Outlook 2003 which is causing the phone not to sync properly through Active Sync.  Going to re-install Outlook from the disk (instead of just updating the 60 day trial with my validation code) and see if that corrects the syncing issue.

Sorry if that is convoluted. Gist: Can't update to newest firmware because updater doesn't show the expo as an option for USB driver.

Thanks for any help.

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-software-updates/software-update-for-expo-v10g/

If you follow the link in the first post of that thread, it takes you to an LG hosted page where you can download V10G in an exe file. If the driver has not been installed, it allows you to install it from the updater that is included in the exe file. I have tested in XP and Vista. In Vista I installed the drivers through the updater.

Thanks for the reply Vanilla, but that is where I got the .exe from.  I think it has something to do with me replacing laptop harddrive, the re-install of microsoft outlook and it not syncing with the phone,  and and active sync.  I just haven't had the time to find/fix it, but will be re-installing Outlook tomorrow and see where it goes from there.

The phone tries to sync with my laptop, but then tells me Outlook has to be logged in and tries to verify my username and password with our exchange server to no avail.  Phone syncs with the exchange server fine on it's own, just fails when trying to connect with USB cord and activesync.  I can use the phone as a modem for my laptop and can use windows explorer to access the phone when connected by USB, so it's not the cord.

I'll update as soon as I re-install outlook and get it to connect to the exchange server.
Thanks.

Maybe I'm just mis-reading your post, but it sounds like you are trying to connect your Expo normally via USB, as if you were going to sync it. When I did the upgrade, I had to put the phone in Emergency Download Mode when connecting it, and so did VanillaGorilla, for things to proceed. See this post: http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-software-updates/software-update-for-expo-v10g/msg6697/#msg6697 and my reply: http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-software-updates/software-update-for-expo-v10g/msg6738/#msg6738

Rogue,

I think I have made a mess of this post by talking about several issues that I think are related to my not being able to update.

To answer your question, I was in download mode but encountered a problem (don't remember exactly what it was, had to reboot both phone and laptop.) Thought it had something to do with USB driver, so using the LG updater, tried to re-install drivers and was only able to find listed driver for GS390GO - the reason I created this post to see if that was the right driver.

This is where I jumbled things up in this post by bringing up the following:

I have another issue from when I replaced my harddrive where my Microsoft Outlook 2003 will no longer connect with my companies Exchange server. I had a backup of my settings on an external drive and instead of installing from my disk, I just used the code off the package to validate the 60 day trial version that installed from the restore disks and then restored the settings from the backup I had.  For some reason, Outlook will not sync with Exchange, so when I connect my phone via USB it tries to sync both the phone and outlook to Exchange and runs into the aforementioned problems. I cannot get into Outlook to delete the account and make new one as it hangs on trying to connect the old account.

I think this may be causing the problem with the LG updater as now the updater says I'm not connected (even though I am able to access the phone throug the PC and usb cable). I am going to fix the outlook issue tomorrow and then re attempt the update and go from there.

Thanks for responding.

Here are some drivers I used to install roms on my LG Incite. I still have the drivers installed on my computer and never had to install the drivers for the eXpo. Maybe it will work.

Thanks Dark, tried your files to no avail.

I uninstalled MS office 2003 and was able to update to 10G. Now I have a new problem. Couldn't find my disk for Office (had case, but kids must have done something with the disk) so I can't re-install it.  Now my registry is messed up trying to access an Outlook directory causing a pop message everytime I switch from applications.  Going to clean up the registry and try to locate my disk.  Anyone know of a safe, complete download for Office 2003.  I have my origional key code, so it would be legit.

Thanks for everyone's help!

I was looking around to see if Microsoft had the trial version for download, but they only have it for 2010. I would say your best bet if you can't find the disk is to do a google search, do a torrent search, or borrow a disk from someone. All should be legit since you have your original key code. Although the internet search and torrent search may have risks.

UPDATE: After doing some more searching I found the following link that is directly from Microsoft. It is the trial version of Office 2003 Standard, but all you should need to do is enter your product key and you'll be set.
