Hey guys ive been surfing the web and are forum to no avail. But i seen that there was a way to lift the size limit of mms messages on other phones like the kaiser there is a file you can download on xda to do it.
But it doesnt say if its will work for any other phone. So my question is, is there anyway to lift the mms limit on the expo? I think it defaults to something like 300kb. Thanks

Well on Windows Mobile phones the mms limit is 600KB. I'm going to try this cab. If it works to increase it to 3MB that would be awesome. Sometimes I have files that are a tad bigger than 600KB and i have to split them which can be annoying. I will post my findings after using it. Thanks.

EDIT: I took a look inside this cab. First someone changed the name of the cab because the internal name is Raiisak`s Kaiser 600k MMS limit. This cab will set the limit to 600k which is what our phone is already at. Secondly this cab won't work for us anyway since it modifies the MMS client ArcSoft which is not the mms client that is on our phones.

Ya np anything to help out! Ive ran into the same problem i tryed to send a 1mb audio file and it wouldnt let me so i thought i would see if there was a way around the limit.
I tried the cab myself and didnt have any luck but i didnt mess with it much. Let me know if you have any luck thanks!

After fiddling around in the registry I found a mms size thing, but I dont remember if it worked or where the registry was anymore, I will take a look sometime though and post my findings.

I think I found the registry key you're talking about. It is \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\LGEMMSConfig\MM1\ATnT MMS. There is a MMSMoSize and MMSMtSize in that key and they are both set with a value of 614400 (600 x 1024).

EDIT: HA figured it out. The MMSMtSize is the max size that it will show under your MMS settings menu where you can set it from 100k to 600k. I changed it in that menu from 600 to 500 and the MMSMoSize changed to 512000 (500 x 1024). I'm going to set the max size limit to 3,072,000 (3000k (3mb) x 1024) and see what happens.

UPDATE:
Looks like the change worked. I just sent myself a picture i took from the phone's camera that was 900k and it went through just fine. It took a little longer to send of course, but it works. I'm going to try sending something a little bigger next.

So far with both settings changed to 3072000 I was able to send the 900k file, but nothing larger so far. I went up to a 2mb file and it said the message could not be sent. I'm working my way back down in file sizes and one I recently tried to send that was 1.689MB failed as well. The max file size I was able to send was 987k so it looks like despite what is set on the phone, the network itself probably has a 1mb limit on MMS.

Nice work guys!

Thekingevrock and I were working on this awhile back in the same reg values, but never got it to go. Now I see it was probably due to testing with a MMS well over 1 MB in size.

Good detective work there spidertech, hunting down the actual size limit  Grin
