Does anyone know if it's possible, using something like Vito Audio Notes or Resco Recorder, to record both sides of a phone conversation on the eXpo?  The Fuze wasn't able to do that out of the box, and it was claimed for quite a while that it was a hardware limitation, but a program called ICR (In-Call Recording) turned up after a while to enable it.  I'm curious if the eXpo has this capability, so if anyone can give it a try and report the results, I'd be grateful.

It should have that capability, but for legal reasons it is something Microsoft disables. All the beta roms have this feature enabled, but we can't figure out where the recordings are saved. Anyway, if the person on the other side of the call doesn't know they are being recorded it is illegal; that's why this feature is disabled.

I believe it saves it as a .wav, but I'm not sure. The software I was talking about though is built into the the phone program by Microsoft. I'm pretty sure there is a reg edit to enable it, but I'm not sure what it is. I will have to look through the reg of my Incite since it is enabled on that phone. However, when testing it we haven't been able to find where the audio file is saved.

I have used a program, called ACR as well to do this kind of thing.  You can find it on XDA.  ACR (automatic call recorder) automatically records calls, and has options to record only incoming, only outgoing, or both.  I also has options about the quality of the sound file saved, where it is saved, and has an option to ask at the end of each call if you want to save the recording.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536472

It requires Net Framework 3.5 to work.

I just tested it on my IQ and it works fine.

As stated above, if the person you are talking to does not know you are recording the call then it is illegal to do in many jurisdictions.  You have to say as the first thing, something about how you are recording the call, and if you use this program, you have to do it for every call while the program is active.

cheers,
