I've been wondering that myself lol. I hope the UI becomes something entirely new.

4 failed miserably so they decided to just skip to 5 to save the embarrassment. Just kidding. I used 3.5 a few times on my Incite. It is a very nice UI and I hope 5 will be redesigned to be even better.

Here is the link of a hands on demo of the new SPB 5.  IMHO its not groundbreaking new, i'm using the latest version right now and while i do see improvements it still seems much the same as the version I'm using.  It does look better with the 3D icons and more see through panels on the carousel.  I think the more groundbreaking part is the different platforms this will now run on.

Here is a link for anyone that has not seen it:

They had to go multi-platform.

Good on them too.

This looks pretty cool I'm curious about how many folks out there using the eXpo are using this shell or the older version.  Currently I'm using the LG UI which is not perfect but I'm getting use to it. I'm interested in finding a shell that is more finger friendly any suggestions?

Are you sure it's SPB MS 5? :-p

I'm using SPB MS 3.5.3 and the one in the video looks very much like SPB MS 3.5.3 with a little more 3d eye candy and some different icons. even the layout is the same. Nothing so revolutionary to justify skipping a major version.

Kev, if you're willing to spend time to customize the UI, you can try some of the titanium plugins, just search on XDA, there're a bunch of them. but if you want something that works well, I strongly recommend SPB MS 3.5.3. I use it with mSkip's widgets to get prettier widgets, search XDA there's a thread on all available mods/skins for SPB.

You can try it out first, the trial I think is 15 days, if you like it then get it from handango they have coupons (just google search) once in a while so you don't have to pay the full price of $29.95, you'll also earn points on SPB store, enough to get a free copy of Quads (you can buy from handango and still get the points on SPB store). Also goto the SPB user forums there's an app to let you customize the launcher menus (which arguably should have been included in the standard version in the first place but wasn't).

I think i came across negative in my last post about SPB shell..I'm definitely not..I think its the best one out there and most functional ..works so smoothly.  Only down side I can see is I have only about 45MB left if I run the newest build along with the MobilSense 3.5 plugin ..but it looks great ..all the graphical eyecandy (reflections, axis pivot carousel etc) and puts everything in logical locations (or you can change it to your taste).

I'm hoping I can get this thing cooked into a ROM someday..having this run with about 100MB free would be awesome!

Before I settled with SPB MS I tried other shell /homescreen replacements like PointUI and ThrottleLauncher as well as some titanium plugins and also looked up a couple more, some of them are free, others aren't. None of them really looks as nice as SPB MS out of the box, at least not with a lot of customizing, installing this and that plugin. Some only look good on the surface, underneath the configuration menus and stuff don't look good and may have tiny UI controls.
