Figured I would post this on here to let you guys know how this whole ordeal went down.

Last night I was getting sleepy while watching some Angry Video Game Nerd (on the expo) on youtube using the youtube app for winmo. I had wifi enabled so it didn't have to buffer using 3g, thus draining more battery. I passed out while watching and as I woke up the screen was still on with the standard "connecting" that it reads after a youtube video ends. After powercycling, the battery was at 0% and did the "countdown to 10-shutdown" deal that I have never seen before (never let me phone get that dead). Anyway, I immediately put it on the charger, powered off. About 20 minutes later, I turned it back on, and it was at 98%. The screen still didn't respond so I power cycled it. After booting up, the screen still didn't respond at all. I have it set to where it vibrates slightly when I press the screen. No vibration, not registering at all. I immediately called ATT. Thankfully I have insurance on it, but even more thankfully, I was still within the 1 year mark of the warranty. They are shipping me a new one, and due to Labor day and standard shipping, I'll get it on or before the 15th, no charge.

Anyway, after getting that process in place and that ball rolling, I hit this forum up and tried a hard reset. I tried the "Volume down/Multitask/End/Power" trick. What this did was it locked the phone as if I was just holding the END button. The only way to unlock my phone is to slide your finger across the screen.

F***.

My screen doesn't work! No dice! I tried EVERYTHING - It's 4pm now, been messing with this since 11am. The phone is a brick. Thankfully, I have installed all programs and settings to my 16gb class 6 microsd card, and all my contacts were already on my SIM card. So no worries there!

I called ATT back and let them know that my phone is an unusable brick untill the 15th. They credited me $25 no questions asked, and were super nice. They also forwarded all my calls to my other cell (Verizon Blackberry) that I use for work.

So. Oh well, I can't use my baller-ass phone for a week and a half, but everything will work out in the end.

Just felt like sharing!

These phones are important to us as, well I wont draw lines lol.

That is a sad story indeed, at least insurance is there for you, thankfully.

One question though, did you pull the battery an leave it for about ten minutes?

That is a long shot, but it is worth trying if you haven't already..

Well, hope the new one makes its way to you quick as can be.

Thanks for the story too Wink
