LOL, a co-worker of mine that has a Droid Eris saw my phone at lunch, and after seeing the Mobile Sense skin said "I thought you had a Windows phone? Isn't that Android?" He always dissed WinMo phones for not being finger friendly like 'droid or iPhone OS. Now he is so jealous, he's practically green, hehe.  Grin

i have bought the above two piece case with lcd protection and belt clip above. i have been using it for over 3 months. its very durable i only have one complaint. after a while i removed the protector ring around the lcd screen and noticed that dirt had been trapped between the phone and the ring which caused the chrome trim to get all scratched up. other than that, the case has proven to be a great buy.

And  also the little tabs that keep the top ring protector on make contact with the keyboard, so excessive opening and closing of the keyboard is scratching the P and Q colums of letters on the  slide out keyboard.

Pretty much, yeah. And we do software tech support for Windows products, but he's one of those "I only use Mac and maybe Ubuntu myself, Windows is horrible" I keep thinking "Dude, Windows pays your bills. Quit whining, ya hypocrite!"  Grin

I too have purchased SEVERAL hard cases for the phone, however not a darn one of them work for me. I have the Zagg invisible shield on the phone, full body, and these cases just don't work for me with the added micro mm of thickness... darn it... Cry

we need a hard case that has a slot onboard to keep a real stylus in it... the lipstick stylus wears out too quickly

I wasn't too happy with the hard rubberized case...the little clips on the sides break off too easily if you tend to remove the case often. I can't even get the 2 pieces to stay on anymore Sad I'm going to try the silicon one.

Sorry to hear that Jdawg. Since there are several hard rubberized cases out there, could you let us know which you purchased so others might possibly avoid the same experience?

Thanks,

The hard rubberized case I purchased looks identical to the one asnboi posted pictures of. The third picture down on his post you can see the little clips that are supposed to secure the phone in place(until they break of course). When the little part of the clips that stick out broke they actually became even with the side of the case preventing the case from clipping on. Mine came from eBay just like his did, although he bought his from a different seller. I hate to reaffirm the notion that you get what you pay for...lol I'll try to post a picture to better illustrate.

i've had cases like this for other phones and not 1 has ever lasted more than 6 months!

i'd love a case that can quickly remove the back for the projector and still protect the rest of the expo.... to dream, tis wonderful...

Was looking at my silicone case after reading this and started thinking about the back piece of it.

What if I bought a new one, then took an xacto knife to the back piece of my old one..... a horizontal cut just below the bottom border of the battery cover so I can get to the latch......two vertical cuts from the corners of that up on either side of the cover to just above the top seam of the battery cover......you could flip it up, unlatch the battery cover, snap in the projector and on with the show!

But, how to keep that flap down and flush with the rest of the case when not using the projector? Duct Tape Silver is not the look I want for my Expo, velcro tab inside on battery cover would add too much bulk, double-sided tape wears out quickly.

Any ideas, you engineering-minded MacGyver-types out there?

Can't think of anything that would make this work well without adding bulk or creating an undesired look to the phone. I also see godashram's point about the flaps getting in the way of the projector when it is on. One thing you could do is like you said is get a new silicone cover and maybe cut a hole out in the size of the battery cover; and just change out the back when you want to use the projector. Then you can put back on the fully intact cover when not using the projector. It may be a bit of a pain to switch it every time, but if you are using a silicone cover you would have to take it off to use the projector anyway.

I am currently using a slip-in vertical case on my belt (which is actually from Kodak for a digital camera but fits my Expo like it was made for it and has soft padding inside) when I think I might want to whip out the ol' pico projector, and the silicone case the rest of the time.  So, yeah, I'm an occasional phone nudist ;-)

One thing you could do is like you said is get a new silicone cover and maybe cut a hole out in the size of the battery cover; and just change out the back when you want to use the projector. I knew when I made the suggestion about cutting out the flap that it was an imperfect compromise, but this sounds even better Dark. Might have to give it a go. The back of the silicone cover I have is pretty easy to take off anyway when needed - could just keep the modified one with the projector and swap them out together.
