I have done many searches and still trying to find a TV out cable for the LG eXpo GW820. If anyone finds one, please let me know as well as a splitter to be able to connect the TV out cable & the charger at the same time. I would like to be able to watch a movie or my MobiTV on it w/o losing the battery charge. Any help would be great thanks!!!

Don't know. It may work or it may not. We won't know unless someone tries it. Has anyone been able to confirm that the video out is processed through the micro usb port?

I may have found a way to connect our phones to a display.
Unfortunately You will need to buy. 1 A SD to MicroSD Extender Card
2. SDIO video- out for PDA/Smartphone.
Site here:
http://www.memoryc.com/flashmemorycards/accessories/spectecmicrosdiovideooutcaard.html.
SDIO is a standard sd card which you insert into the extender then from there the micro sd part goes into our phones. But this particular product comes with a micro sd adapting port. If your display(e.g. tv) have vga imput this may work

Can anybody with a working TV out cable confirm whether this screen off application

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=707458

will switch the screen off and still allow tv output?

I have tried it on my expo at the moment and it works great. I can now leave my phone on active sync with the screen off.

Let me know it might make it worthwhile to get a tv out cable.

Just bought and recieved the UTC-200M from the UK (amazon) and can confirm that it works with the Lg eXpo.  I've played with it maybe 10 minutes so far and here's my initial impression.  My 32" 1080p tv makes it look pretty bad, but it does show anything that the phone shows, except for any function of the camera.  It does not seem to offer any options in quality or anything for that matter, just portrait view or landscape.  I tried a quick divx video and it played fine, definately watchable but a recorded camcorder video from the phone plays choppy on the tv, but smooth on the phone.  Pictures look pretty bad, and the camcorder recordings do to.  It could be I need a lower resolution tv, but you can see the difference between a high resolution little screen on the phone versus the big low resolution output.  I'll try to keep you updated in the future with any answers to any questions you may have.

To the post above about putting the screen to sleep, but leaving output on the tv, this does not seem to work.  If I put the screen to sleep, the tv follows momentarily and the program disables the tv out function.

If this cable is 640x480, and the projector projects at 640x480, and you have the projector, you should have a good idea of what to expect from this cable, or vise versa.  The functions are similar, it's just another option for convenience or bragging rights, although I'm more of a curious than a smirk.

But still no resources in the US to make this an affordable accessory ? They told me something like $35 + cost of the cable to ship overseas , $50 + is too much

That's a nice find. Should be helpful if it is what it claims to be. If you get one, let us know.

Paid for and on its way , cant beat the $6.00 overseas shipping , prob take about 2 weeks but i'll post when I test it , Got home last week from vacation , flew to Denver,Colorado from Tampa,Fl and my LG eXpo with Pico Projector got a lot of interest as I watched the movie Red projected on the cieling of the jet.

So far estimated delivery is Dec 6th - 16th , It looks like this cable does not have the additional charging or headphone pots on it , just a straight TV Out cable but I do have a generic UT-100M that has both charge/headphone port built in , maybe i'll try to disect the 2 cords to make one, will follow up in few weeks.

I just bought an LG UTC-200M from SmallPrices24 via Amazon.co.uk for 11.90GBP (about $19 as I write this) and FREE shipping to the US.  Came in just under 2 weeks, shipped from Germany.  Works great (as great as composite video can be).

The phone only detects the cable when the other end is plugged into a video device.  Based on buzzing out the cable and a couple other posts, it is obviously detecting the 75 ohm termination in the receiver rather than the cable itself.

For those interested, here's the pin-out (note, pin 1 is on the RIGHT when you are looking at the connector end of the cable "smiling" at you).

1. No connection (reserved for +5V)
2. L Audio
3. R Audio
4. Video
5. Shields/returns (ties to phone ground)
The connector shell is floating, not tied to pin 5.  This may be important or may not be.

Since 1 & 5 are always used for power and ground on micro-USB devices, only 2-4 are available for the rest.  So if you find another micro USB to composite video cable, it likely will work, though you may have to experiment or buzz out to figure out which output is which.  Note that HTC "micro USB" video cables use their "extended micro USB", which has additional pins for audio & video.

Now, to find a Y adapter that lets me plug in the charger and A/V cable simultaneously.
