 The Snapdragon chipset (QSD8650) has support for up to 720p (1280x720) HD video!
 http://www.qctconnect.com/products/snapdragon.html

 Now the Expo/iQ only has 640x480 video support why? it can't even do 480p (720x480) DvD Quality.

 Is there a software update to fix this soon?

these would all be excellent things to either  bring to LG's attention or create a petition we could all sign that might also?

You could bring it to their attention, but it would probably be a waste of time and energy. It looks like LG (and AT&T) has all but completely forgotten about this phone.

Yes, I have the same question.

Why eXpo not support 720p recording ? The same situaion is on HTC HD2 with WM can't record with 720p but when run HD2 with Android Froyo then can record in 720p. Why someone can't make app for WM to support 720p resolution ?

This is what pisses me off with LG. Their ONE PROBLEM is once the phone is out they almost NEVER update it, and if they do it doesnt seem to do much at all. I know for a fact our phones can probably record 720p, and hell they coyuld easily run Android or a load of other apps, but sadly nobody is supporting it cept for the number one contributer, dark Tongue

Spec. Qualcomm QSD8650
    *  1 GHz CPU
    * 600MHz DSP
    * Integrated 3G mobile broadband
    * Support for Wi-Fi ® and Bluetooth® connectivity
    * Built-in seventh-generation gpsOne® engine with Standalone-GPS and Assisted-GPS modes
    * High-definition (720p) video decode, and multiple video codec support
    * High-performance 3D graphics – up to 22M triangles/sec and 133M 3D pixels/sec
    * High-resolution up to WXGA (1280x720) display support
    * 12-megapixel camera support
    * Multiple audio codecs: (AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, FR, EFR, HR, WB-AMR, G.729a, G.711, AAC stereo encode)
    * Support for mobile broadcast TV (MediaFLO™, DVB-H and ISDB-T)

Maybe if can't make drivers for MW then can port Android (are similar devices with this chip) and then use 720p recording.

As much as I love this forum, and dark and all you fellow tweakers and hackers, LG should be doing more work....

I doubt i will ever buy a LG product again.

This phone was dropped by my carrier a few months ago an seems LG has completely ignored the issues with the stock rom as it was the end users fault.(Less then nine months old and dropped)

I am not happy with them right now at all.

If it wasn't for Dark, and others, it would have been thrown under a bus long ago.

Well I must agree with you there aswell, though I am not happy with LG ROM updates and support *chuckles* I am still a LG fan.... call me crazy but I still love my LG Chocolate, and my LG Dare and even this phone....I just wish LG would follow HTC more by making their phone hardware tailor to its software.

I may have been a little too harsh on them, though they left us in the dark so to speak about rom upgrades an have dropped hardware support and it strikes me badly as a consumer.

I am hoping they learned a deep lesson from this even though there is no indication that they have.

They make nice looking phones, true enough, just pulling these stunts, hurts not only us, but them for repeat sales.

This is taken from their support pages,
Quote
* Notice : Please back up all the files (through PC Suite etc) before upgrading the phone. We don't
take responsibilities for lost of any files due to user's carelessness.

Are they using Google to translate into English? It's these little things that show no motivation to help the end consumer in the markets where they are sold imo.

My friends love for phones like the Chocolate is what sold me on trying them out myself, so a lemon or two is not out of the norm.
