I am having a hard time picturing this Peter, do you mean between the two halves, on the hinge side, they are touching an squeaking while in a closed position?

Maybe if so, to narrow it down or quell the squeak, automotive silicone spray, spray some on a Q-Tips tip, and lightly rub it on area you think is squeaking or rubbing, not hose it, just enough on each side to make it look shiny.

Silicone spray should not harm the plastic, an is a great lube. (It also, prevents car weather seals from freezing after car washes if you rub the weatherstrips down a couple times a year, an they dont rot out.

Only creak i had was battery door.
Slipped a thin piece of paper folded, in between door an battery, no creaks.
