Tried to Sync my phone to my PC, when I plugged in the USB Active Sync starts, but  it keeps restarting and never makes a full conection. It sees the phone for a minute, but AS resets and it starts again and again.
I've done a hard reset to my phone, re-installed AS on my PC, but I get the same results every time. I've had the phone for about a week. The only way I can place anything on my phone now is by loading files on my storage card through a flash reader.
Any help or suggestions?

I had issues too at first.

Have you tried shutting off advanced USB connection on your LG under connection settings?

Give that a whirl an tell us if it helped or not.

Tried it, but it still keeps connecting on and off. Is there anything on the PC side that needs to be changed?
I've had no problems syncing my tilt, and it required the advanced USB connection to be enabled.
Tried it on my laptop as well and it doesn't work there. Never synced a phone on it. The laptop is running Vista, my PC is running XP. The phone shons that AC is on also?

When i first started syncing, i had connection issue's too.

Had to restart the pc a couple times, the phone a couple, play with the advanced usb an, allow data connections on device when connected, through  the active sync on the pc.

Turning off your locking mechanism is almost  required untill its synced, i had finger scanner lock engaged an it greifed me like what your seeing.

After that you can allow automatic device authentication when connected on pc side of things.

So make sure lock is off an not set to come on at a timed interval an reboot both pieces an keep at it.

Appreciate your help!
I don't have any locks enabled, turned off my firewall/virus scanner, re-installed active sync, many rreboots to pc and phone, advanced USB settings on and off. Still constant connect and reconnect.

This may sound dumb, but try plugging your USB cable into a different usb port, not the one right beside where you may be plugged in now an retest.

It may have some nasty interupts going, not noticeable normally, but if a mouse or a steady data connection is needed it could be a real gremlin.

I have two usb's kinda iffy, i could use them with my old HTC's to sync, but this LG don't care much for them, but i can still connect on them , just it will lose it within an hour.

Got it to work finally, don't really know which step fixed it. I repaired AC several times and after several reboots of PC (again) it finally worked! Must be the "FM"?
Yhanks for your time and advice!! Grin

This is UNBELIEVABLE, I've tried to sync again, and I'm back to the same problems!! Also triedswitching to another port.
I'm starting to think there might be something wrong with the phone.

That, or your cable is crap. Try a different usb cable. I've had problems with the one i got from radio shack. it used to work in vista, but now in w7x64 it's not even detecting, different cord works just fine. Dunno why my cheap 10 dollar one stopped working Tongue

I assumed you would be using the factory package cable...

Theres many after market, that will not work as a data cable at all.

Though if you used that, there would be no flashing of A/S, no partial connection.

It does not like to used as a mass storage hub, so if your transfering large files through A/s, it will get flakey i have seen, sometimes it will carry 200 mb, sometimes a 1gb, its unreliable as a mass storage.

Though, A/s should be working, you said you were going to try another port, have you done that?

Keep in mind though, there are some after market cables that do work. You just have to get a good quality one. Even then though the wires inside might break and the connection may become intermittent. It could also depend on how you store it. I once killed an ipod cable by leaving it floating around in my bag, and we all know how other cables such as earbuds etc react. But like WR said, the port might need to be powered or it might be a mysterious problem with that port on your pc.

Tried different ports with same results. I'm using the factory cable and will purchase a new cable today and try that, before another hard reset of the phone and re-installing AS.

If the factory cable don't allow a connection, then theres an issue yet.

Without phone plugged in, open A/S on the PC, hover over mobile device settings, then goto Connection settings,Unselect "Allow USB connections".
On to the phone now(Still unplugged), check to see if "Advanced network function" is enabled under Settings/ Connections/USB to pc, selct it for now, if it isn't.

Plug phone into PC using factory cable, PC end first, then phone, it should light up showing a charge coming in? T
Then in A/S on the PC, goto, Mobile device settings/ Connection Settings, an select "Allow USB connections" again.

It should immediately on the phones, pop-up connecting, an A/S should start spinning its wheel on the PC if you have A/S open still, if it connects great, let it run through a couple cycles left alone.
If it doesn't connect, toggle the "Allow USB connections" off again on the PC, sit a minute so to speak, reselect it, does it connect?

If it does not connect, go back to Settings/Connections/USBtoPC/Advanced, an unselect it on the phone, now go back to PC's A/S, and reselect "Allow USB Connections", does it connect?

I've tried all of that already. It connects and disconnects constantly. AS will show the device, then lose connection, no device appears, then device is shown again. This is going on and off constantly every 15- 20 seconds. Extremely frustrating and annoying. It happens with both advanced USB settings enabled or disabled.
