Now, this is driving my batty lol.

I have tried putting the normal dword an or string values in the correct spot, even tried the other two i can find in the registry, this darn pop-up manages to hang on.

Normally this would be controlled under,
HKEY_Local-Machine/Software/Microsoft/inbox/settings
Then it would have a dvalue or string in there shutting it off, the smsentnotification.
(SMSNoSentMsg)

Or even to add it, and it still does not work, ok,
now theres 3  inbox settings i have found,
2nd is. HKEY_Local_Machine/System/inbox/settings
3rd is. HKEY_Current_User/Software/microsoft/inbox/settings.

I even modded the Notification in the Local_Machine, and Current_User an still it pops up lol.

(Editted to clean up my horrid typo's)

Any ideas fellow users.

Disabling SMSSentNotification is not a big thing, why did MS hide it so well lol.

There is an option in advanced config tools to do this. It is under messaging. To disable it by a reg edit go to:

HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/microsoft/inbox/settings

Change SMSNoSentMsg from 0 to 1.

Interesting. It works fine for me. I did it through the reg and it doesn't notify me that I sent a message. I am using the eXpo from the AT&T network, but I don't think that should of made any difference.

DAng, i just replied in other thread about this.

Yeah, its a dead horse on my IQ, it stops the pop up once, then is back, if you go into Reg, the key is still at 1, but the pop-up continues lol.

I am choked over the Idles death grip on the messaging app interface, you shut idles off, but not the hold it has over Sms an threaded viewing.

You're having problems with threaded messaging with idles turned off. That is weird. What sort of problem are you having? My threaded messaging works fine with idles off.

So, issue number two.

Even if Idles is shut off, the LG part of the SMS inbox stays.
So no wm styled threaded messaging.

Im stumped an going to hard reset in a few minutes an retest this all from a blank slate again.

Idk..

That is very strange. It sounds like idles is still running in the background even though you shut it off.

Ok i Hard reset.

First shut off Idles, soon as i had control after a hard reset, then switched to Wm Default.

Back to today screen, restarted unit an let rest, sent a message from another handset, recieve it an open bamn LG's SMS single view, omg.

I wonder if Stimpson or another Telus-IQ user can confirm that they can use the default threaded text messaging as its been known since 6.1, if they shut Idles off. Is it, something that Telus has done to the IQ version, or do i have a dud somehow?

Its almost a deal breaker for me, if i didn't figure there were Roms coming, id be in a pickle.

lol

It wouldn't suprise me if it is something with the Telus version. It wouldn't be the first time a carrier messed with something.

hi WR

I switched to titanium and tried to get the WM threaded test messaging....no dice just as you are seeing.

The only threaded messaging I seem to be able to get is within the LG stuff (messagebox with its yellow and blue bubbles).

a bit frustrating!

SO, Its TELUS...is it lol.

So, you suffer from the SMSsentNotification popup after every outgoing sms too then i guess?

I'm still working on it. Its there somewhere to shut off..
Like i said up top, i tried the three different places inbox can be found in reg to slip my reg fix in, no dice.

Ok solution,

To shut off, Sent SMS notification, you can do it two ways,
first edit this,

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SMStext \
--- change DLL to "htmlnote.dll"

You have to do this an return to vanilla threaded messaging to beat the sent sms notifications pop-up.
Then to shut off the pop up after every sent sms, edit this,(or second way, grab "Dark's Sounds an Notifications cab here at LG-Expo.com)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\settings
Add a D-Word Key "SMSNoSentMsg" and change its value to 1.

Now i believe "Dark's" Sounds an Not cab has option to just unselect it in the sounds an notifications tab in wm system like normal an easiest, if they still pop-up, hit that reg key.

Many thanks Harpboy at XDA for finding this important key for us to use, You da man. Grin

Peace

WR
