Hi Sunshine, Welcome to the Expo/IQ forums  Smiley

You know, that is a odd problem with your MMS, I am sorry I can't help you with that, I haven't seen that myself. Though there a few here that may have or may have some tips for you on it.

On other things, make yourself at home here and enjoy the forums an your phone.
(when you get that bug worked out)

Hi Sunshine.

1: Welcome!

2: I just ran into the same MMS issue myself. The first MMS sent to me on this phone last night slowed everything down to an absolute tear-your-hair-out-slow crawl! Reboots, both soft and hard, helped for a minute, until the MMS downloading icon flashed again, and then freeze-up resumed.

The only thing I found that was related was a running process called "MMSTransportLoader.exe" that was running between 97-99% of CPU usage - but the phone was so frozen up I couldn't get to where I could kill it. Finally took out the SIM and rebooted - and the phone was lighting quick again.

How do I keep that from autoloading though, once I reinsert the SIM?

Update to previous post:

Installed Schaps Advanced Task Manager (thanks XDA) to phone memory so I could add it to the Start Menu for quick access. Reinstalled SIM and rebooted. As soon as the Today was up, launched Task Manager and killed that MMSTranspotLoader.exe process - problem solved. It reappeared in the processes, but did not resume the download. Problem did not come back, but never did get the message either, so a workaround, not a solution yet :-/

If you want to permanently disable  MMSTransportLoader then you need to open the file explorer, go to windows/startup and delete MMSTransportLoader. We did that on the Incite when it started causing problems.

Thanks Dark. Yeah, spotted it in the Startup folder in Windows, but didn't remove it, as I was still hoping  to be able to get MMS in the future. Discovered if I went into the Settings in the Messaging menu, under MMS settings I could disable auto downoading, and this solved the problem with the lockups. I can SEND a MMS just fine, but it's the download of one that causes the issue. Checked the MMS settings vs my Tilt that never had an issue and they're identical, so I have to believe it's the LG process that's the problem. I need to be able to receive MMS still though - any ideas?

Anybody have any thoughts on this issue? I still can't get MMS messages at this point.

AT&T technical support was worse than useless - but worth a good laugh. When I started talking about killing processes in TaskMgr, it took so long for the "tech" to figure out what I was talking about that you could almost hear the sound of crickets...

I am having the exact same issue.  I finally had to do the "SIM card reseat and then go in and set MMS preferences to not download immediatley" workaround.  This just started last night when my wife sent me an MMS. I have received many MMS's up until then. I wonder why it just all of a sudden happen?  Hope LG can fix it.

FastDave, was this the first MMS your wife has tried to send you? Is she AT&T as well? And what phone does she have, if you don't mind sharing?

The reason I ask is this: my issue so far has been my girlfriend trying to send me MMS from her Pantech Impact (P7000) phone which is AT&T too (she's the other line on my plan).

Now, this weekend, for the first time, my dad sent me a MMS of their new motorhome and without thinking I downloaded it. OMFG!! It downloaded instantly, no problem! I called my sister - she sent me a pic - it downloaded too!!

And then I realized: they're all on Verizon.

Had my G/F try a MMS again - instant massive slowdown if I downloaded it.

So, my thought now is either A: It's AT&T's settings on our phones that are messing us up trying to receive from another AT&T phone, or B: It's a particular setting on your wife's and my girlfriend's phone that is to blame, and maybe we can figure it out together...

Let me know, please!

Ok, update: Had a friend with an older AT&T phone (a Sony Ericsson, if it matters) send me a MMS - downloaded no problem at all.

So: it's either AT&T's newer MMS settings that our phone doesn't like, or a setting on my girlfriend's (and FastDave's wife's) phone in particular that messes ours up.

Rogue, you may be on to something here.  I have received tons of MMS from various people before with no problems.  My wife DOES have an Impact.  I don't remember if that was the first time I received one from her or not.  More troubleshooting to follow... thanks!

Hey there FastDave, just checking in to see if you had uncovered anything with your wife's phone. Still having the issue with my girlfriend's Impact (well, actually my fiancee's now - we got engaged this weekend - messing with phones has been low down on the priority list this week!).

You might want to re-think getting engaged to someone who uses a phone that hoses yours up.  Grin Congratulations!!

I could not find any settings on the Impact to adjust MMS settings.  I re-enabled  autodownload MMS messages on my phone.  I have been receiving MMS's from everyone just fine ever since.  I have been afraid to have my wife send me one, because everything has been running so smooth.  I'll try to get brave this weekend and have her send me one and let you know.
