I downloaded ActiveSync and I even tried some WIFI Remote Access app and I just can't figure out how to do it. HELP?

MORE SPECIFICALLY:

What I want to do is load some ringtones onto my phone so if there's a way I can do that without having to sinc the phone to a computer that'd be great, too!

Being real basic here, but did you check all your active sync settings? Have to make sure the Allow USB Connections box is checked.
Mine connected right up with a fresh A/S download.

If all else fails, there's alway a memory card and a cheap reader to load it with.

I did check it and the box is "Checked." I have no clue why it won't work.

If you have bluetooth on your pc, you can use that to transfer files.

Another option is what I do sometimes: upload items to Google Docs on PC then download them from there onto your phone.

Detailed steps to do this:

1) Upload from PC

- Sign up for a Gmail account from Google, then log in to it
- Go back to the Google homepage (www.google.com) again and click on "more" at the top of the page
- Select "Documents" from the drop-down menu (log in again if required)
- Click the UPLOADS button in the upper left corner of the screen
- Click the blue "Select Files to Upload" link
- Browse to where the saved ringtones are on your PC, hold down the CTRL key while clicking each one until all are highlighted (no more than 10 uploads at a time is recommended)
- Click the OPEN button to add the selected items.
- Click "Start Upload"

2) Download on eXpo

- Use your web browser (Opera Mobile is best for this particular site) to navigate to www.google.com, click on "more" and select Documents
- Sign in to your gmail account if necessary
- Tap on the uploaded ringtones one at a time and save them to your phone.

HINT: If the download won't start by tapping on the file, go to the bottom of the page and click the link to switch to Desktop Version or Classic version (not mobile version) and ignore the warning that all features are not supported.

If its the first time you plug in too, it can take a few minutes for Windows on the pc to realize it.

Also, If the phone has a lock code set to it, it will slow the recognition down some as well.

Really, you just need the pc to recognize it, not so much sync with WMDC, and that when it is working, will ask you, do you wish to set up sync with wmdc or just connect.(WMDC=Windows Mobile device Center/aka Active-sync)

I myself, don't sync with WMDC an just connect to transfer files ignoring that question each time.

RC, Nest idea with google docs... crafty thinking.

Anyhow, just another idea tidbit to throw in the stew.
