@Ghostface Is it possible that while your phone is in your pocket, it is sliding open and closed. Even with the phone locked the backlight comes on when the phone is slid open only about 1/8". That is a definite battery killer.

@mypants You say that you leave the phone connected to your PC to sync it.
I have had a problem syncing my phone via USB since day 1. I have tried many times to sync that way but nothing but problems. Sometimes the battery will charge properly, other times the battery will become extremely hot and rapidly discharge. No one has any reasonable answers. It charges fine with the wall charger. I've tried to return the phone to Amazon, but they now tell me a replacement won't be available until June 28th.
I can sync using a bluetooth dongle, so I can live with that for now

If you use freddot task manager or mem-maid you can check cpu cycles an tell if your phone is locking up in bad code when plugging into your PC Megatech, It would easily outpower the little 500mah of output of the pc's USB port an cause extreme heat.

I still suspect that with yours.

Imo  Wink

Not sure I understand what to look for?
I use memaid went into the CPU usage menu, plugged in the USB. The only thing that changed is the repllog file appeared, but has 0% activity, idle processes jump between 96 and 99% of activity.
If I missed something, can you explain further?

Yes certainly, and sorry it didn't help really..

I suspected your phone is choking on active sync locking up, causing cpu to go full tilt an cause extreme heat an drain battery faster then the usb port could provide power.

Most of us here are having odd A/S issues, an seems to be related to LG's USB/Modem/DUN settings from my watching.

Though if its idle, for the most part that does not apply, and certainly does not explain a battery drain while plugged into the pc.

I expected it to tell you it was hanging up on a piece of software an not be actually idle when plugged into your PC.

Honestly i think its something LG added to the ROM causing all our heartache with A/S.

Now though, in your case, it does appear borked if it wont charge an wont connect an is idle while attempting it, Like i said, i expected it to be caught in a loop.

Maybe you know what this is for?
In the windows folder, there is an App called "switchUSB". It gives you 2 choices - Microsoft USBfm, which is the one that is checked off and the second, that says "QC composite - DUN, DIAG, NMEA".
I tried enabling the 2nd and when I plugged it into my PC, it said Driver not installed, so that didn't help me out

Ok a couple things of interest to note.  Yesterday I was having the same power issues, barely used the phone early and suffering horrible battery life.  I finally hard reset.  The only thing I installed after HR was SPB shell naked without skins or anything.  My phone made it through the rest of the day without much issue.

Now something odd, the phone was on the wall charger for about 11 hours and when I woke up the battery was at 98%.  I got ready for work and when I took the phone off the charger 30 mins later it was still at 98%.  Don't know what the issue with that could be.  I prolly should have soft-reset with it on the charger.

This morning when I got to work the battery was down 2% (96% remaining) while installing skyfire, ucbrowser, and s2u2.  I went and installed Resco Explorer and SKTools as well and DotFred Taskmanager.  I am going to leave it alone for awhile and monitor battery usage.  At this point though I think I've found my power leak was coming from a memory leak in a program though.  I am going to take it slow and install a couple things at a time monitoring power consumption and waiting a bit (half-day or so) before installing anything else so I can try to figure out exactly what it is that was zapping my battery.

11 hours charging and it showed at 98%??

Yeah, something is borked alright,  I suspect your issue is prior to the installation of the additonal software, or is faulty at hardware level.

This phone at 1amp input, can full charge in 3 hours...

In my opinion, I would Hard reset again, and go through a charge routine with nothing installed at all.

Kind of a pain i know, but, right from the get go in your statement, theres something afoot.

For reference, I pulled mine off charger yesterday at 5:30am, When i plugged into charger at midnight last night, I still had %48 battery, Yes 18.5 hours.

Yes, I do use mine, I surfed on wifi, made a pile of calls and plenty of SMS.

Though, whatever you do decide, Keep us filled in please.

Try band switching at this post. http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-tips-tricks/disable-3g-and-select-bands/ If you have not done it. It does help some.

Near "the end" I encountered the same problem with my original phone, up to that point syncing had been working (win7 x64).

I had a few other issues with that phone, and got Telus to replace it before my 30 days was up. I haven't had any of the same issues with my replacement which I've had for almost 2 weeks now. The battery life is much improved and I haven't encountered a crazy drain at all. Most notably, my new phone says "battery charging" if it's plugged in while off, my busticated one never did that.
