After swiping my finger a little bit of the black over the finger print sensor came off and exposed some gold color and I thought "oh great that looks horrible".  So I used my fingernail and scratched off the rest of the black and now it's bare and gold, I thought "hey that looks nice like that".  Well sure, it looks great but now the fingerprint sensor doesn't work.  Like at all, won't scroll, won't unlock, nothing.  So if the sticker or whatever they put over the fingerprint sensor starts to come off on yours just deal with it, don't know what they expect you to do when it starts to come off because once it starts every time you swipe across it it will pull off more.  Any idea who I can call about this?  I bought it off amazon.com

I went to LG.com to fetch the customer service number and looked at the phone as pictured on their site and it's comical that now the phone looks as it is pictured but won't work now.  :unamused:

I wondered why the two had different coloured scanner buttons, figured it was just the packing tape they had plastered all over the phone when it was new and they had missed that piece for pictures lol.

Wow ghostface, this is a concern isn't it, On mine, the scanner window appears to be a smoked black plastic in the very center, is this where you are talking about, I kinda assume it is as thats the window portion..

I can't see a lip or anything on mine that would lead me to believe its a sticker still there, wow it must be on good or paint perhaps.

Have you tried playing with the sensor settings an seeing if turning up or down the sensitivity would help or not, Idk reaching there but, this is a concern for everyone here.

Yeah I messed with the sensitivity and what not and it didn't help.  I called LG and they want me to pay to ship it in (bought the phone Feb. 4th) or I can take it to an ATT store and see what they say.  I don't think I should have to come out of pocket to ship in the phone as it's barely over a month old but whatever.  And they told me that they may void my warranty since I removed the black.

Yes the black in the very center of the fingerprint scanner.  Now mine looks like this but won't work anymore...

Well that bites hard and is possibly bad news for others.

I'm an old mech, my skin's not the smoothest what are you a mason or a carpenter by chance lol.

In any case, I am sorry to hear your troubles Ghostface, I hope they don't pull a warranty knee-jerk reaction on you.

In another thread, theres reference from a person from Authen-tec claiming Expo's issues are with the antenna, lol, maybe their using smoke an mirrors and trying to skirt an issue with their part they supply themselves.. Smiley

SO, we'll all wait to hear what happens from this, my fingers are crossed for you.

It confuses you lol oops..

I, am a auto-mechanic with poor skin texture and or missing at times, the trades that are usually worse then mine on your hands are usually Mason's, Cement workers, and Carpenters.

They each respectively turn to cement or wood after years of work in the field lol.

I was wondering if you had skin like 60grit sandpaper or not, lol.

LOL!  Well good news, even though it's been over 30 days amazon is going to replace my phone!  They are shipping me another one tomorrow and giving me a return label to ship this one back.  Major thumbs up to amazon.

Good on you getting them to replace it.

That's got to be a relief for you  Smiley

I wonder how others will get treated if this happens to them through natural wear an tear though.

@ ghostface Look your replacement phone over very carefully form Amazon. After waiting for a month for a replacement for my phone they sent me what was supposed to be a brand new phone. I noticed that the shipping tape that goes around the edges of the phone had fingerprints underneath the tape, in the battery compartment there were fingerprints, but most disturbing of all was that the keyboard area had black paint peeling off the plastic! It was obviously some sort of refurb. When I called Amazon and told them of the condition of the phone, and that it was not a new phone as promissed. The rep said "Oh sorry for that sometimes we grab the wrong item for shipping". After much discussion, they agreed to take the phone back, but I'm still stuck with my original phone that won't sync to my PC via USB. I can deal with it for now but I'm still pissed.

I had a problem with my phone syncing to my pc as well. I ended up doing a hard reset and it works perfectly now. I think it was one of the taskbars i installed that caused the problem.

I've tried that already with no additional apps installed and it didn't work.
I can sync with no problems using bluetooh. I also use an app called WiFi Remote Access
I can live with that for now, just worried if I ever flash a new ROM, I don't think I can do it via wireless or BT
