Now having used the IQ for a short while, i realized it has some tendencies of its own as most phones do.

I noticed, that when the weather program of LG's S-Class polls weather stations, it wakes the unit up out of stand-by, help me find a cure, for the time being, i shut off Auto-Update.

I am fussy about how my stuff runs, an something like that bothers me, first, it leaves the screen on, second it leaves in a situation where it can be kept alive or operating from odd touches it can aquire while bouncing around in our cases and on.

I will keep looking on how to stop this an update if i find a work around.

Peace

WR

Update..

I believe, this behavoir is only seen when, theres no active data session.

So, If you have a exchange server set to send items as they arrive, it wil always have a data session active, even if its auto polling every, say 15 or 30 minutes, it should be swell.

Now, this is seen on a Telus IQ, I've seen no other mention of it so with this said Ymmv.

Or, it just learned to check for updates silently recently and is making me look dumber then normal.

both of you said true. if no data connection active and weather update set to auto update. the phone will turn on the screen indication that it is etablishing a data session. that's what i saw multiple time.

Geesh.  Newbie's coming in and answering posts that are several months old and not realizing that the guy posted the answer under himself, anyway...

Its all good guys, I left the thread alive as reference so maybe others can reflect on it as well if needed.

Sometimes, old mistakes/discoveries etc, need to be rehashed an chewed on further.

Soon, this issue will be behind us when we get our new Roms.
