Just a quick little write up to help those having difficulty setting up Active Sync through bluetooth to Windows Mobile Device Center on a Vista PC.

1. Open the Network and Sharing Center.

2. Click on Bluetooth Devices in left pane.

3. Select the Options tab and check “Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer”.

4. On your eXpo, open Bluetooth Settings and click add a device. This will allow you to pair your eXpo to your PC. After pairing, you will be able to select services for this connection. Check the box for Active Sync (and any other services you will use) and click OK.

5. On your PC you will be able to set up your bluetooth services for your eXpo. I chose to have the PC always accept connections from my eXpo, otherwise the PC will ask you if it's OK every time you try to connect.

6. From your eXpo, click Active Sync and click Connect. Your PC will now slow to a crawl (at least mine did) while it installs drivers for WMDC to access your eXpo. You may want to have your eXpo plugged in for this as it took a while and disconnected every time the screen blanked.

7. Once your PC has installed the drivers, you can configure the way WMDC syncs with it.

8. To sync with your PC, open Active Sync on your eXpo, click Menu, select Connect via Bluetooth. It should connect and sync.

Thanks.  Smiley

Took a while to get set up but now I have a semi-permanent Vista test platform. I should be able to chase down Vista gremlins when needed.
