So yes I got my eXpo!!! Grin

Anyways, I'm going through the settings fixing things up and what not, and was just wondering about Youtube videos.  I'm connected to the net through WiFi and the videos kind of look like old dial up videos.  Undecided

Is that normal?

If you use Core Player ($ program) it has a YouTube browser built in and you can change the setting to play high quality (or whatever level you want) by going into the Settings menu and select Channels page...under the "Preferred Format setting you can pick your codec and quality settings..

Hope this helps if you use Core Player that is..

I concur with the findings of my esteemed colleague.

Well I was just about to buy CorePlayer (Didn't really want to) until I ran into a Youtube viewer app on Youtubes own site!

Go to:  http://m.youtube.com

And on there you should see a link to download their youtube app.   Looks MUCH nicer now Smiley  Extremely satisfied. Smiley

Im using youtubeplay.  It can search youtube, play flv's, download youtube videos as flv's, and extract the sound as mp3's.  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385227

Downloaded it and tried it but there's no full screen... it's a small screen... Sad

So far I haven't found a Youtube App I'm completely satisfied with.  The actual Youtube App seems to crash every now and then or hang on me...

This one you mentioned looked promising but it's a small screen Sad

Edit:  Oh wow it does have full screen!!  Yay!!  Grin  Guess I'll stick with this one Grin

the youtube app has much better quality than streaming using windows media player, but I can't login to my youtube account, and the connection is flaky. I connected using wi-fi, played one video, then it refuses to connect anymore until I stop and restart the app.

Well thats weird, I am using it too, an I had no issues, yet lol.

Are you using the hardware keyboard to log in?

It will not enter numerical digits in a password field in landscape, only in portrait.

Odd bug with keyboard.

I was referring to the Google YouTube app, there's no option to log in.

(edited my typo)

I tried using this app and it just keeps freezing on me. I dug out my old copy of Coreplayer and you tube works great through it.

I've tried Youtube play, the google youtube app, and Core Player. Most if not all of the videos are pixelated in full screen mode for all 3.

If you go to the mobile youtube site it will let you sign in there and when you try to play the videos it will open in windows media player. I haven't had an issue with it, but I've recently installed Flash Lite 3 which will let you play the videos IN IE. All my other flash content works now too. I like the quality of the youtube app from google, but I don't like the search or the inability to sign in.

@spidertech Do you have a link or cab file for Flash Lite 3? I've been all over Adobe's site, can't find a download for it. Was asked to fill out a license form, but it looks like it is for Corp. use?
C-net said they had the DL, but when you click on the DL button it takes you to the Adobe page.

Google released a new version of the youtube app. You can finally access you account, favorites, subscriptions. Video playback seems much improved.
You can DL it directly to your phone by going to the Google home page, click on More in the upper left hand corner, and scrool down to Youtube.
