I was wonder if the expo supports the ability to wake up the phone by pressing the fingerprint button.  The only thing that does this is the power button and sliding out the keyboard.  any ideas?

Thanks.

Not natively.

Though our forums own, RogueCheddar just showed me in another thread, that SPB Pocket Plus works to re-map some of the keys on the Expo/IQ.
Look here for thread

Maybe take a look into it at SPB, or ask RogueCheddar if he can map it to wake possibly, sure would help with wear an tear on power button alone I would hazard.

Peace

Sorry folks, that's a no-go on the fingerprint scan button - it is not mappable to anything except: short-press = "Ok/Select"  and  long-press = "Context Menu"

BUT...

Next, I tried remapping the short press of the task manager key to Showcase (my current task manager of choice) and the long press of it to wake .... except there was no "wake". Tried everything from "screen on" to "Today" and every application I could think of that would wake the phone --- nothing worked.

Finally, I tried reverse-logic and picked "Suspend", thinking "if it can DO it, maybe it can also UN-do it"

SUCCESS!!

It's great because the long-press ensures you don't trigger the suspend accidentally, but when you want it, it only takes a 3-second press. Then only a single quick tap of the same key wakes the phone!

Only one problem: If you use the power key to suspend, the side key will not wake the phone - only the power key will again.

EDIT: Not so much success - for some reason, after the phone has been suspended for more than about 10 minutes, the remapped side key will not wake it again. Hmm.... will investigate further  Huh

Sweet, thank you RogueCheddar,  got sidetracked yesterday so perfect.

Another thing, semi-caution when playing a suspend type app, just to throw it out there, I used to use PHM power off, suspend & soft reset app, for a simple sleep app it was great till this Lg.
Though I found it was somehow screwing with the back lightings ability to dim by time set an would choose a new time.(Key can be found here HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight\LockLevel) Deleting Lock value in this folder fixs glitch though is  spooky as to why its effected, so i stopped playing with sleep apps.

This was on stock Roms, though I see the bug is still present, Its nothing of Darks but more I lean toward LG's hardware drivers, as sometimes turning camera on an off  repeatedly will set the same glitch in the lock level.
(I talked to LG support about it and was like asking my cats the lottery numbers, well without mental telepathy I'm not getting anywhere fast.)

Just saying, in case you get the back light time out bug.

LG drivers have been notorious for screwing things up it the past. It's no surprise that they are the culprit again.

I don't like the way this sounds but, its good to know that its the LG drivers and has been seen before in other areas by yourself Dark, I was losing it till I narrowed it down to that particular circumstance originally.
