So we all know by now that the back key can access voice command conveniently and easily by simply holding it. I was digging around in the registry and found where this actually is located. By default the buttons tab located in the personal folder from the start menu only has SIX buttons to configure. I figure there should be a place to configure those

By directing yourself to the following registry location

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys

In here you will find a bunch of keys like 40C1 40C2 all the way to 40C6
these keys are the buttons you can configure in the buttons tab.
The Voice command is located in the 40EF
the 40EF key contains the action for holding down the back key
Now to change the DEFAULT ACTION change the Defualt key to anything you want
\Windows\notes.exe
the RESETCMD key should be removed so it does not default to voice command
IF you want to keep all of these settings the same and make the back button close any window in the front. Change the FLAGS option to A thats it just A this flag after i did research all over the web MSDN and other websites xda everything. the "A" flag makes this thing close anything. Honestly I wanted it to replace the OK button on the keyboard but frankly I havent figured that out yet. Hopefully this will allow someone to figure out more keys to modify, add more functions to this awesome phone.

This is very useful information, can't believe I only stumbled across this today Sad

Did you ever figure out how to map it to the OK button on the keyboard? (As of right now, for easy closing of windows, I just have the original LG multitask button set to "OK/close" in the buttons menu.)

There was a brief mention of this in some other thread. It was talking about SPB Pocket Plus and how you could map the buttons out with long and short press. I tried installing it but it didn't work out, it just froze my phone at bootup and I had to do a HR.

NOTE: In all fairness though, I didn't have the most legit copy haha.  Sad
(It still should of worked though, it was clean...according to Virustotal, Malwarebytes, ESET, etc.)

Sorry to hear about that Modry. I was the one that posted about using Pocket Plus to remap buttons, and it's been working just fine for me on my Expo so far (note: I DO have the Today plugin turned off though)

Maybe your copy was just.....funky somehow? Anyway, you can get a 14-day trial of the fully-functioning version, and see if it's worth it to you, here:

That's ok, I knew the risks of Warez, but thanks though Smiley

Just one other question...it says it is a plug-in for original WM, are you using the original Titanium or SPB mobile shell? Does it even matter?

It is for the WinMo default Today setup through 6.1 - Not compatible (at least not yet) with Titanium, Idles or Mobile Shell. I personally am using Mobile Shell currently, so have the Today plugin part of it turned off. Although, I did discover that if I turned off all Today plugins, but left Pocket Plus on, when I used the "Show Today" option in Mobile Shell it showed up just fine all by itself - then when I hit the right softkey "SPB Home" it was gone again. Used up more RAM though, so let it go, and put more shortcuts on my Mobile Shell panels  Grin

LOL, Emilio! Change it to Charlie Sheen next week just to confuse people  Tongue

Haha I honestly did not know they were brothers until you said that. I googled it because I didn't know what you were talking about...apparently Charlie Sheen isn't even his real name Sad

I saw the picture of Emilio in the profile options and it made me think of this lol:

I know this is a pretty dumb question but...how do I change it to "A" exactly?  Huh

Do you mean a hexadecimal A i.e. 10 in decimal? Do I put in A in the hexadecimal part or 10 in the decimal part?
