To create wallpapers for the eXpo you will need the image you want and an image editing program. I use Photoshop, but there are plenty of free alternatives. After you got those then you will want to re-size your image. I recommend 800x800. Our screen resolution is 480x800, but your image might not look so good in landscape if you size it to that. Also keep in mind that if you use an image that is smaller than the 800x800 that the image may be distorted and won't look good as well. After you re-size the image save it as a .png file. You can use .jpeg files, but for the best looking image I recommend .png. Finally just load it to your phone and go to start menu>settings>Today. Check the use this picture as the background box, click browse and select the background you just created. It will automatically center your image. Alternatively, you can go to where you saved the image by going into file explorer, then clicking the image. After that go to menu in the lower right hand corner and choose Set as Today Background. This will give you the option to show something other than the center of the image and will allow you to set the transparency of the background. Finally click ok when finished.

Yes, I prefer the 800x800 myself.

The pictures have a normal feel to them an lose nothing really to clipping in portrait mode.

But pays for itself when in landscape mode an the start menu is used.

Has anyone found a way to use two different backgrounds, one for portrait and one for landscape? I have a program called themegenCE that works on my tilt. maybe I should see if it would work on my expo?.....

Unfortunately Windows Mobile, much like XP, will automatically tile any image that does not at least fill the screen. And, unlike the desktop versions of Windows, there is no ''stretch'' or ''center'' options. Your best bet with a smaller image is to create a new image in any image editing program (even MS Paint) at 800x800 pixels with a solid color, then paste your smaller image dead center in it, and then save the whole thing as a .jpg or .png

960x748 is the perfect size. I was playing around with SPB Mobile Shell and realized that their pictures fit with the perfectly in both landscape and portrait.

Dragged the file out into photoshop, edited it with my own picture, and it was a match.

BTW, SPB=Awesome.
