I just tried running the updater package and it told me that the software didn't need updating. I'm going to look into a way around this.

I'm trying this on a XP comp. I installed the USB modem driver, still giving me that caution sign. I try installing the updater, if I do Run as Admin, it says I can't open the file. If I run it normally, it get the C++ runtime error.

What should I set the compatibility mode to?

igothacked. I managed to flash my phone by combining some of the Incite flasher and the rom. I'm going to pack it up and upload it (probably rapidshare since it is a big file) and send you the link. It may be a few hours though.

LG must of added something to the Flasher to prevent custom roms from being flashed once a phone has the same firmware as the rom your trying to flash. Good thing the Incite flasher can be modified to work for us.

Actually scratched all of that. I uninstalled on xp then reinstalled the driver on it. It went from wasn't install to isn't correctly configured.

Next it gives me the option to install it but it says I can't install this hardware

If your using xp then you don't need compatibility mode. Just run the updater.

Okay then what do I do about the usb modem driver? It consistently says it's either not installed, or it isn't configured correctly. If I uninstall/reinstall it will tell me it isn't configured properly. I try to update the driver, and go through the automatic install, only to tell me it can't do it.

Were you able to get it installed properly on the win7 computer? If yes I successfully updated using win7. For xp or even win7 try this file:

Your install says "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate."

This was on both win7 and XP

I'm really stumped on this. In order to do any sort of future updating though this will need to be installed. Does anyone else have any ideas that can help igothacked?

I checked LG's support site on drivers, their drivers are updated to ver. 4.9.7, maybe that will help  a bit?

It's worth a try. The flasher is almost uploaded. I have another half hour.

You may have to flash the rom. That's what I would recommend for your next step. For flashing instructions:

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/how-to-flash-your-expoiq/

LG update rom (works in Vista):

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-software-updates/software-update-for-expo-v10g/msg6534/#msg6534

Dark's Dragonstorm roms:

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/dragonstorm-23559-rom/

thekingevrock's sense roms:

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/%28rom%29-%28open-beta%29-first-sense-2-1-rom-for-expo-%28over-70mb-ram-at-boot%29/

and GTX rom:

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/%28rom%29-gtxpo-gtx-skinned-expo-rom/

If you want the original 10D rom, I do have it but I don't know where it is being hosted and I'm currently mobile so I cannot upload it right now. If Mediafire is up when I get home, I can post it there (unless someone can do it sooner). The 10D rom is not Vista compatible.

Let us know if you need more help.

I noticed that Dark's link for the eXpo rom still works. Of course, I noticed after I had uploaded the rom to Mediafire. So in addition to Dark's link, the file can be found here:
