hi friends, im using dragonstorm's latest rom which by the way works flawlessly. And ofcourse it has Woodhole's expo/iq tweaker. Ofcourse I selected the option to edit medianet settings but it is not possible to edit the settngs. since I am not using at&t there are some apps like internet explorer and java that use only medianet even if i have my apn selected by default.
can somebody please tell me how to erase or edit medianet settings. I am sure that a lot of people will benefit from this post. Thanks

Thx for the question master war raven. I am in Costa Rica, Central America and we only have one carrier which is the government's ICE, it sucks lol and I use  3g in the 850 mhz frequency and gprs internet which is sloooow but words.  Im actually posting from my phone using opera's lame browser. I actually managed to erase medianet by using Dark's cab (I found it in a different post in here but Ill have to put the link later).

So first I edited medianet to have my isp's settings. that did not work. then i completely erased medianet leaving only my isp settings (my isp internet service provider on gprs). also i checked the proxy manager with the setting to use gprs not wifi. the problem is that i have internet in some apps like opera and shazam. but i dont have internet on internet explorer, ms marketplace, java and some others. what do you guys think is the issue? sorry for writing too much.

Looks like your near getting it working yourself.

I am wondering, if Opera will connect, try Internet Explorer again, and after its shown you the page it can't connect, try putting in a web address an going to it.

I am not sure if you have done this yet, but have you gone to:

Tools\Proxy Manager and disabled the proxy?

If your 3g internet is working with everything else then the proxy is usually the culprit.

I use my expo on Rogers in canada and what I do is edit the media net settings to my apn but leave the media net name placeholder. I do this because the expo's registry is coded to use the media net apn as a default when using agps and internet sharing. Changing the apn settings within media net is easier then hunting down reistry settings.

lol,

WarRaven... I can't even create a CAB man. I just dabble.

Anyway, ewarez, glad we could help.

Remember: enable proxy is set by default. So everytime you flash a new rom or do a hard reset you will have to disable proxy again.
