If you can find a location on Accuweather, you can make it you home weather place for your phone.

Go to Accuweather.com and search for the place you want to monitor the weather.  You need to search by name and not by postal code.  If you put in somthing like "Portland" you will get about 10 entries.  Pick the one you want and select it.

Accuweather will bring up a weather page.  On the top of your browser, where you see the http address you will see as part of the address the Location Code.  Something like |NAM|CA|ON|PORTLAND

This is the info you need.

Now edit
HKCU/Software/LGE/Weather/
String:  WT-City-Code   Value: NAM|CA|ON|PORTLAND|

This will get you the right weather info.

now if you want the Labels to change then edit the Strings for that to:

WT-City-Str
WT-Cty-Str_Saved

If you chose a country different than the one you set in the LG settings you may have to change the country code etc too.

cheers,

Try this.  I do appolgize for this reply. If you activate the LG idles in today settings and move the weather app to the front on your home screen layout you don't have to actually go to that site on the browser. tap on the icon weather put in your zip code after that is updated then tap the icon again and it will show you the current forecast and the next five days of the last updated entry tap that then it will allow you to manually update the weather for your area. This I believe will use less of your data than going through the browser.

This is true. If you don't want to use much data though make sure that you don't have it set to automatically update. If it is set to auto update then it will update every hour. For those that have an unlimited plan it isn't a problem, but for those that don't it may become one.

Maybe I should have been more clear in my intent..In most of the US, the LG weather app that is a part of the S class interface, and can be front and center on your home screen has fairly granulated data points..ie you can, with your zip code, get a weather forecast fairly close to you.

Not true outside of the US, and in more sparsely populated areas.

Were I live the settings LG lets me make gives forecasts for 80 miles Northeast of me, or 70 miles southwest.  With the above technique I can set up the LG app to get forecasts centered about 8 miles away.  You only have to use the browser, to find the code to put into the reg keys for the app, once.
