Connect phone to PC with usb cable.

select Start on phone.

select Tools on phone

select Internet Sharing on phone

make sure PC connection = USB

select Connect in bottom left hand corner of phone

You should be connected after this. Watch for new connection in task bar on PC.  Should show 10Mb connection speed.

I usually connect the phone AFTER setting up Internet Sharing, as I've found that doing so beforehand will sometimes initiate an ActiveSync connection that borks the whole process. Of course, you can always disable USB connections in the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center settings, making this a non-issue.

I haven't encountered that issue with Active Sync when doing this on both my Incite and Expo.  When I initiate the sharing, it stops ActiveSync and connects.

Here you go, step-by-step:
http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-how-to/how-to-use-internet-sharing-and-activesync-via-bluetooth/

And just a friendly reminder: you could have found that by just typing "bluetooth" and "internet" into the Search box in the upper right hand corner of every page on this forum Wink

Do you have WiFi enabled on your PC?  If so, it might be trying to access through Wifi and not through your phone.  Try turning it off and see what happens. Just a theory.

I tether via bluetooth a lot. Nearly every workday. Have used both Vista and XP. Xp is easier to get set up. If using Vista, remember the OS is trying to protect you from hackers at the $tarbuck$. You will need to tell your computer that you trust the network (on my laptop with Vista it was called Network). You need to make it either a  private or home network. Once your OS trusts your network, you will be good to go. I believe the same is true for 7, but I only use 7 when providing technical assistance to those who have newer systems than I do.

I just use the program WMwifirouter. Run it and create a wifi network. Default wep is 1234567890 - I ran the program and played a full game of starcraft 2 on my laptop with no lag (3g 3 bars). I also use this to remote desktop into my home computer while on the road. Work provides me with a sprint mifi card, so this is not my prmary, rather my backup method, but every time I've used it, it's been success.

Completely understandable; my own low opinion of ActiveSync is well known here  Smiley
