Not sure I can help, but I'll try.
file to apps in lg menu cannot be found when i look at windows folder but are still active in the menu itself.
Do you mean you can open these with the LG menu but cannot see the files with file explorer?

i  used to be able to open attachments in the email app but now i cant even though i have it able to download all attachments but when they are opened it says messaging will not open it. without emails i cannot download the net 3.5 or the tweaker now need help

What carrier do you use? Is this an internet e-mail or from your ISP? Are you using wifi or cellular data? Post back and we'll see if we can get you sorted out.

Since I run a Dragonstorm rom, I can't look to see where those exe's are located. Perhaps someone running an LG rom can chime in to let you know where to look.

On the e-mail issue, you're gonna need to change your connection settings. I have been looking through your old posts, did you get your T-Mobile data connection set up before the hard reset? You will need those settings again. You didn't mention in any of your posts where you got the settings to get data working, but you should be able to find those settings on Google.

For future hard resets, it may be best to keep all of your cab files on your storage card so you can install them from there afterward.

NV,

Let's take a step back before we go any further...

1) You bought a used AT&T expo. The LG expo runs an operating system called windows mobile and just like every operating system you need to configure it to work with the internet. The AT&T expo comes preset with all settings required to work with AT&Ts network.

However, you can configure your phone to work with other networks as long as the phone is compatible with the radio frequencies of the new network (and is unlocked). You can get voice calling to work with T Mobile by inserting a new sim (the sim contains the information to allow the phone to work with T Mobiles network).

To get the phone to work with the internet (ie 3g) you need to configure the phone to work with T Mobile's network. Since you have recently hard reset your phone, all the settings will be restored to the At&t defaults. You will need to reconfigure the phone to connect to T Mobile's data network.

2) Have you reconfigured your phone to work with T Mobile's data network?
Or
Have I lost you completely?

As a side note, hard resetting your phone will restore it to factory defaults. That means any changes you have made after purchasing the phone will be wiped. This includes any data saved on the phones internal memory. Anything stored on the storage card is safe and will not be touched.

For me, hard resetting is a last choice. In many cases you can resolve issues before needing to hard reset.

Sometimes some issues can be resolved by a soft reset. A soft reset is simply turning off the device and letting it boot up again.

3) As for you email issue, what kind of attachments are you trying to open? Files need to be associated with a program before they will open, eg. word documents are associated with mobile word and pdf files are associated with adobe reader lite. When you open one of these attachments the associated program automatically runs to open it.

@ KV, the only way he has been able to get cabs on to his eXpo is by sending them to his e-mail. I don't know how he got e-mail before his hard reset, he never posted where he got settings for T-mobile or if he was using wifi.

yes it will open in the lgmenu but it cannot be found in fileexplorer

I had an issue similar to this with the programs thing on my phone the other day. It wasn't with a program in the LG menu though. Somehow my microsoft MyPhone had disappeared from the phone. I thought maybe I uninstalled it, but when I went to install it again it said that it would have to uninstall the previous version. I could not find this anywhere in the start menu or sub folders of the start menu, and it wasn't in the applications folder in the root directory. When I reinstalled it, the app icon appeared in the main page of the programs menu.

On the subject of YOUR issue, where exactly are you looking for these apps? You said the "windows folder", but I want to see which sub folder under \Windows you are looking in.

i had found and fixed the prorams that had not been before by going to show all files instead of searching individual folders

maybe i was wrong when i said hard reset i used clear mem to rid all things i did

email used to open before so there must had been an app able to open them

i am lost with the connectivity stuff but my internet and data works anyways and it says tmobile on wireless settings so isnt it ok?

the only smatphone  had was tmobile sidekick for 5 years so i never got acquainted with touchscreens in general forget about smartphones Cheesy but i am adapting and learning at a fast pace

also i bought a cable and downloaded net 3.5 nd tweaker Cheesy

irrelevant question here......does anybody know where i can find chess for my expo i only have that bad one from omarket

If your internet works, your connection settings should be good to go. I misunderstood your problem. You were trying to use messaging to open your cabs. You should have saved the files to your eXpo & used file explorer to find them. They open themselves.

I know the answer to your issue, Myphone link or shortcut installs to Start/Settings, and not under Start itself.

I actually thought that too, but I'm using the Sense 2.5 ROM that thekingevrock made and it would normally install in the main programs list. On DragonStorm it would install in the settings folder so I checked there too. I actually looked in the Windows\Start Menu\ folder and went through every sub folder (including Settings) and it just wasn't there. Once i reinstalled it the icon showed up under the main programs list again. Weird.

Yeah so my myPhone app icon has disappeared again. I found where it's at in the windows folder so I can make the shortcut icon again, but this is just odd that it would disappear from the start menu for no reason.
