Angry Trader up froma a Blackjack II, but fell for the projector feature on the Expo. This phone won't sync 90% of the time and occassionally shuts off by itself and won't turn on until I do a soft reset; but I love it when it works. Can't wait to get the projector and do my first power point demo.

Hey carguy, welcome to the forums.

That is a nice step up indeed..

Now what we know, there is a boatload of active sync issues, yes.(vista,xp seem to manage better then Seven, somewhat)

The fail to restart after a reset i have seen while plugged in, though i have not heard of anyone having random reboots, or to be common at all.
So i wonder, does it do this when plugged in only or any time?

Maybe loose connection at plug or battery not seated well?

that's just not right.

Yeah the activesync issues are known, but i have XP and have never had an issue with it, and its connected a LOT..

As to the random rebooting i havnt heard that yet, mine randomly locks up.. sometimes i get a call and it gets stuck playing the ringtone for 3 minutes while the screen is non responsive and in the wrong orientation untill i take out the battery.. but it never restarts itself, like WR said maybe your battery isnt seated well, or the connectors are bad?

Speaking of reboots and locks up.. yeah, I've gotten them too..

> Yeah the activesync issues are known, but i have XP and have never had an issue with it, and its connected a LOT..

I can get it connect to xp, with occasional disconnects, but I don't use outlook so not sure how well/poorly outlook sync works.
I also got it to connect to vista but I don't use that pc much so not sure what problems vista has.
I can't get it to sync with win7 (RC), can't even detect the phone

>As to the random rebooting i havnt heard that yet,

I think I've had that once or twice for the past month since I had my phone, but that doesn't bug me too much considering my old phone (non-smartphone) also reboots once in a while

> mine randomly locks up.. sometimes i get a call and it gets stuck playing the ringtone for 3 minutes while the screen is non responsive

Mine didn't get stuck playing the ringtone for 3 minutes, but it still got stuck playing for 15 seconds, which was enough to make me feel like an idiot hitting the "accept call" repeatedly but the phone just kept playing the ringtone.

Ok, if its freezing up, like the both of you said, during a ringer notification.

Which ringer was it?

Tell me so i can try this out, i have played with every stock ringer an have added a schwack, no freeze or lock up when i get a call.

Carguy, did you try reseating your battery etc?

Davi, you still have your Expo/IQ, i thought i read you got rid of it, or did I get my wires crossed with Davi's, no matter, you both have a simaliar problem that is not common to the small community here.

So i would hazard, you guys, check your ringer, ringers out some.

WR

I see, so its kinda being over loaded at point of, waking an recieving an incoming call then?

Hmmm ok,...Can i ask you guys this?

Where are you storing an using your ringers from?

Are you putting ring tones that you want to use, into the
App/sound folder, or just in the personal ringer under my documents, or on the storage card?

probably another davi, I still love my eXpo and trying every hack/tweak to make it work better :-)

I have a 700k ringtone in the "My Ringtones" phones on the SD card, I'll try different ringtones to see if that makes a difference.

Ok sorry about the mistaken identity part Davi, my bad.

About the ringer, move it to Apps/Sounds folder an reselect it in sounds an notifications after moving it.
(So its sourcing the correct one)

As well of course try other ringers an see if you can repeat the lock/freeze up too..

Wishing you luck.

I'm using Windows 7, so hopefully someone will come up with an updated device driver to solve the sync problem.
The shutdown/reboot issue did occur while I was plugged in to the charger.

I agree, a patch/Fix is/has to be coming for the A/S issue sooner or later.

The shutting off thing must be a LG thing. I ordered an Expo to replace my Shine, my shine shuts off about 10 times a day, I hope I don't have the same problem with the Expo.
