I just picked up my IQ nd look forward to tweaking it out. I also use a Touch Pro 2 so will be posting pro's & Con's between them.

I am a heavy email/phone user with over 8000 contacts on the phone and a low day finds me recieving 150 plus legit emails.

The projector sounds great, got my phone rep ordering me one right now, will let you know the details when i do!

GPS works out of the box as well as full BT, Telus is finally waking up and paying attention (Bell has had more open policies and cheaper data plans) but i could not leave as the LNR dept. at Telus treats me well I have had my account since 1990.

Alright i have to check out this forum and see what we got here.

Hi there and welcome to our group!

Hope you enjoy the group, and looking forward to hearing if you are the first in the group to get the projector.

I am with Telus as well, and do use my phone a fair bit, but not with the contacts you do!  I only have about 500 contact, but I use about 1500 minutes a month, and have 4500 mp3's on my IQ.

welcome again

Stimpson,

Lots 'o minutes I go through just over 1200 outgoing and have unlimited incoming so i do not even track them.

You have quite a few mp3's do you use any custom formats to keep the size down or just a big sd?

How about accesories? I want a TV out cable (used a lot on my TP2) and a y adapter with 3.5mm like on our Touch Pro (ver1) the lack of 3.5mm jack was the only thiong that made me hesitate in getting this IQ (and also it was not an HTC, I have had quite a few of them)

Will certainly let you know when the Pico comes in, seen them advertised price of 179.99 now.

hey anyone out there know how to "Activate" voice on this device. Of course I enabled it in settings but what button do you hit to get it to "Listen"?

Thanks Man, I found it an hour or so ago after trying just about everything, I was even on support call with LG after 30 minutes with Telus. You think these big corps would have there shit figured out a little better. LG and TELUS both did not know, could not find. So I had to "TEACH" the LG rep how to map buttons, what a joke. We used the multitask button, guess I will have to call em back and tell him how it works on their own phone!?!?

Did you find this through trial and did you find in the user guide? if so what page as my old eyes missed it.

thanks again

hehe i know what ya men bud.
This interface hides alot, indeed, all my knowledge is trial an error.

I been using an playing with them since Clie an Ipaq days, so i was sure i could master Wm, but the S-class hides a few things like the control of the finger print scanner lock, whether to use it or the traditional wm 4-digit with slider lock.

This phone rocks, absolutely, but the scanner needs a sensitivity update or something, it will consistently lose finger prints, but will remember the obscure ones, reset them an it will work ok for a bit then lose them print sets again, so for me, i use the normal Wm 4 digit.
Now with that said, the S-Class interface does allow for some nice fast access to things like ringer control, wallpapers, menu of start items, and alot more, but one must dig a bit.

And it can all be shut off an returned to Wm interface, but i have not found, how to get proper Wm threaded text messaging back...The S-Class is cool no doubt, but a bit slow compared to the vanilla way i would like, some days.

Cant wait for some Roms  Grin

Sorry got rambling, Peace

Hi seedguy

Right now I just down grade my mp3 collection to 128 Kbps for mobile use, and put them on my 16 Gb SDHC card.

Seemed like a good idea, with the headphones I have used with my phones..but I just got a  pair of Nokia BH-905 's that sound stellar....so I am looking forward to fast 32 Gb cards coming out soon...great our phones are speced to read them!

I'm looking forward to a Tv out cable too!...hopefully with a charging input like the HTC ones.

cheers,
Stimpson

ps
Where are you seeing the Projector (available for preorder maybe?) for $179?

Hi I just joined a few minutes ago and was about to post my greetings but after reading these I noticed you questioned on the voice activation button.  I was just going over this myself.  Initially I was under the impression it was holding the call button for a few seconds.  That doesn't work.  I found the default button is the "back" button on the front of the phone.  Hold that for a few seconds and it should work.  This was found by trial and error on my part.  If you search for the pdf instruction manual (google) it can tell you all of the voice commands also (towards the end of the file).  I found them rather amusing myself.  Go Expo!
