Hi all,

New owner of the IQ. Glad I discovered this forum as I'm off to a rocky start with the phone, trying to get it up and running on my own.

Will be reading here over next few days & hopefully it comes together.

One problem I'm having is getting this software to work - Lexicomp (medical software). I have it installed and updated, but afte a couple clicks within the program I get  frozen and error message and program closes.

The following is the instructions on how to install:

Windows Mobile 6.0 or Higher Instructions
Installation (Requires two files to be downloaded)

   1. Ensure you have a strong wi-fi or cellular connection on your Windows Mobile Device.
   2. Navigate to http://windowsmobile.lexi.com using the default browser on your Windows Mobile Device.
   3. Click the Download .NET Compact Framework link to download the .NET Framework required to install the Lexi-Comp Software.
   4. If prompted, ensure you have the Open file after download option checked.
   5. Click Yes to install the .NET Framework required for the Lexi-Comp software.
   6. If prompted, you may receive a message that reads, "The previous version of Microsoft .NET CF 3.5 will be removed before the new one is installed. Select OK to continue". Click OK to this message.
   7. Ensure Device is selected and click Install.
   8. Click OK to the NETCFv35.vm.armv4i.CAB was successfully installed on your device message.
   9. Navigate back to the http://windowsmobile.lexi.com site and click the Download Lexi-Comp ON-HAND link to download the LexiComp.CAB file.
  10. Ensure you have the Open file after download option checked and click Yes to install the Lexi-Comp software.
  11. Ensure Device is selected and click Install.
  12. Click OK to the LexiComp.CAB was successfully installed on your device message.

Activation

   1. Open the Lexi-Comp ON-HAND application on your device. You can do this clicking START and PROGRAMS
   2. If opening the application for the first time, please read and accept the license agreement by clicking I Agree
   3. Enter your registration information, and click Submit
   4. Click the Menu button and then click Update.
   5. Click Add Product.
   6. Enter the Product Code ************ and click Apply. A successful activation message will be displayed. Click OK to this message

Updating

   1. Before you can begin accessing your subscription, the databases need to be downloaded.
   2. Place check marks next to the databases you wish to install, or click the Menu button and then click Select All.
   3. Click the Update button or click the Menu button and click Update to start the update process.
   4. After the update is complete, click the Menu button and click Library

IMPORTANT:

    * The Add Product button will remain in the Update list. You may use this button in the future should you need to enter additional product codes.
    * You may receive a "Subscription Expired" message within the next 30 days. This is only alerting you that the 30-day trial you downloaded initially has expired. Your purchased software has not expired and will be completely functional after this period.
    * The Lexi-Comp ON-HAND application may transfer a significant amount of data which could result in charges from your carrier. We recommend that you utilize an unlimited data plan or connect to a WiFi network when installing or updating this product. Please contact your carrier for assistance with your data plan or with utilizing a WiFi connection.

If anyone can help, greatly appreciated (maybe this component in the wrong thread (sorry if so...)

Otherwise, I'll keep on plugging away.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Chris. It is possible that the program you want to use is not entirely compatible with the IQ. There may be issues with screen resolution or something. However, try this. Open the task manager and end all programs before starting the app and see if that makes a difference as you could be running into a low ram situation. Some other things that might help are Woodhole's Tweaker app or a custom rom. Either of these will increase the performance of your IQ, both together and it's a completely different device. If you need more help just ask. We're pretty laid back but we do appreciate if you search before starting new threads. Anyway, there's lots to read and learn around here. Take a look around and have some fun.

Hello hockeyspy, Welcome to the forums  Wink

After reading your post, I suspect that the version of .NET Compact flash is probably too old.

If you flash a newer Rom , it comes with the latest .NET installed with it, Even if you install a version of .NET without flashing a new rom, You will still need the (Tweaker) app from the forums here to initiate it to work.

So, Flash to a newer rom ,or check Woodholes Tweaker App thread and on fist post he explains how to install it an make it all work.

Thats my best guess on that.

Good luck an let us know if it works ok after wards.

Ok, without flashing, did you grab the latest NET compact flash an install it too, and it still didn't fly?

Need the tweaker to select it, once its installed type of thing.

For Darks latest roms, Vista will work, shut off Anti-Virus an run as Administrator and it will fly.

Can just use the tweaker app an the latest NET CF without flashing a rom, but the newer roms are worth the switch by a long shot.

If the Latest NET doesn't help, I am not really sure why it won't run honestly..

You're asking for help in too many places (also called double posting). I left an answer in the post:

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/how-to-flash-your-expoiq/msg8964/#msg8964

You also received answers from other members in the Dragonstorm thread.
