Hi All,

Ok, I am from Manchester UK, and I bought my LG eXpo from ebay and had it shipped from the USA about 6 months ago with projector and so far it has cost me almost £750 but I love it.

I haven't really been bothered about the glitches that the phone has had up until now. The main problem I had with the phone was after the update a few months back. 8/10 times I send a text message I get an alert saying “Message was not sent. Try again?”  It didn’t take long for me to realise that the text message was being sent and I just ignored the alert. However when I sent a text message that contained over 160 characters the seconded message would not be received.

The other day I decided to clear the phone and reinstall everything to see if I could cure the problem, but to no avail. I how have a load more problems with the phone. Internet explorer will not connect when using WAP but will whilst using Wi-Fi. I know the WAP is working because opera 10 mobile works ok, so I know it is connected. The weather will not update any more, Bing will not connect either and the phone seems a hell of a lot slower.

I came across Darks ROM’s yesterday and I am really contemplating flashing my phone with a new ROM. I have never done it be for and am just a little hesitant whether to do it or not, I have seen the thread about how to flash your phone so that’s my next port of call. What I would like is to know is worst case scenario, If I did flash my phone could I kill the phone if I done it wrong.

Welcome to the Forums.

I would recommend checking your proxy settings and make sure your Proxy is set to off. This is in the start menu > Tools. i believe. Its been a while since i was on the stock rom. This was the problem i had when i was having connection problems, it is set to Restore Proxy by default so after your reset it probably got switched.

As for the Dragonstorm ROM i would highly recommend it. I have been running Darks ROM since i found this forum and i have never regretted it. This Phone Flies with that ROM. You can always flash back to stock ROM if the flash to Darks ROM isnt what you want. There is always a risk you can brick your phone but i have flashed mine about 5-6 different times and had no problems, its a relativly easy process. I had never done it before i got this phone.

Goodluck

Thank you for that, you were right the Proxy was enabled and now it’s connecting.

This is probably a stupid question... But I'm going to ask anyway...

What’s the difference between all the ROMS from Dark, I get the V3/V5. But there is so many, is there an outline of what one does what? Is the latest one 23568v5

Dragonstorm - 23138 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23134 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23132 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23568 v5 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23568 v4 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23568 v3 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 21907 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23568 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 21901 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23563 - eXpo
Dragonstorm - 23559 - eXpo

Thanks for your time...

Questions about Dark's Dragonstorm roms should be asked in the Dragonstorm thread. This question has been asked and answered more than once. Basically, the lower on the list, the older the build. Which one is right for you, depends on what you need out of your device. I have tried all except 21901 & 21907 (I need my start bubble on the bottom). I use 23568, there are some keyboard alignment issues, but overall it works best for me.

And now for something really different . . .
