Hello NVonShats, Welcome to the forums. Wink

Nice to get things out of the way off of the bat huh Smiley anyhow, there is some people here that may be able to help further with this and better then what I can.

It is a nice phone, hope you can get it switched over alright, I do know some here use it on others carriers then the ones it's sold on, however I am not sure or aware of how they did it after unlocking it an thats where they can pitch in better then I ever could.

Peace, Hope it works out for you, and if so, see you around the forums.

NVonShats,

What it comes down to is radio compatibility.

From memory the Expo has 4 band GSM and triband UMTS or HSPA 850/1900/2100

so an unlocked expo will work on T Mobile GSM network (i.e. you should be able to recieve and make normal phone calls with a T mobile GSM)

From what I can research TMobile's UMTS network runs on the 1700 and 2100 MHz frequencies. So theoretically you may be able to get 3g network speeds with Tmobile. However, you should be aware that the Tmobile's 2100 frequency may only cover a part of their 3g network with the 1700 frequency covering the rest.

I guess what I am trying to say to you is that the expo will only be able to access one of TMobile's 3g frequencies. I am not sure how this will affect you because I have no idea of TMobile's frequency coverage.

If you are looking for a phone for TMobile and want to make sure of the best possible 3g coverage buy a phone with a radio supporting the UMTS 1700 and 2100 frequencies.
