I just picked up a B&N Nook.  I love this thing.  There is no way to describe how great it is reading with an e-ink display.  It truly has the contrast and viewing angles of real paper.

Of course, since it's based on Android, I have already soft-rooted it and I can now browse the web on it too.  I've only had it for a couple of days but so far I think it is excellent.

I have tried using e-readers on my phones and my PC.  I just can't read for more than 30 mins without my eyes feeling stressed.  The e-ink really is all it's cracked up to be.

I think the Que is a cool device.  I think it's too expensive for my purposes though.  I also like have a separate touchscreen so I don't have to deal with fingerprints and smudges on the screen I am reading on.

I don't need the business side of the Que so I imagine that's why I see it as too expensive to be used as an e-reader.  Besides, the nook is Android based and has already been soft-rooted.  I already added a web browser and free book finder to my device.  Pandora has also been ported and I'm sure there will be document editing software soon enough.

I'd like to find a reader that works on WM that will let you turn pages like the ipad demo shows..not needed..but cool looking

Most of my books i read I use on the eXpo..used to have a HTC Athena with a MUCH bigger screen and it was the perfect size.  eXpo works and I mostly use adobe Reader LE so i can size it for no eye strain.

I have the Amazon Kindle. It allows you to read books instantly & globally as well as listen to MP3 songs & browse the web. I absolutely love it! It is so nice to take all of my books with me everywhere w/o the sore back!!!!! And the pages look so real as well. Love it!  Grin

I'd love to have something like the kindle but with a little more built it..my dream tablet/reader thing would be close to this :

http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/16/notion-ink-adam-hands-on-with-video-at-mwc-2010/

read all the ebooks you want on a 10-12 hr bat life even in bright sunlight and still be able to run everything a netbook will run in a small formfactor.  to be able to carry everything..take notes..do anything i want to on it (save playing any type of graphic intensive games) and carry 100's of my fav books would be great!!

I just hope this one comes out matching the hype.

I really like that device but it's a bit too bulky for me.  It's very impressive though.

I suspect (read somewhere?) Apple is targeting 'Kindle" with the iPad.

Kindle, or Kindle 2 (and not the Kindle DX) simply provides the user (reader) with exactly what they want.

IMO, Apple has missed and Amazon will continue to rule for "readers".
