Here in Canada, On Telus, we just went on line with our HSPA/UMTS network and to many of us Telus users, its new all around.

I used to use Rogers back in the analogue days, haven't since, so i can't compare phones.

So, my question is, Do your Expo's flash in stand by, to show network is active an alive?
Or, Do any of your other Gsm/HSPA phones, flash in stand by?

Cdma, pings the towers around it for updates in stand by, and shows it through the led on the phone, I am unaware if Gsm phones ping and show it, or sit in idle.

This is the first phone since analouge that does not flash in stand by, so its a little disturbing lol.

Mine did wake after being in standby mode. but after doing the that network band swapping trick. no not anymore. Must be the 3G aspect of the phone. My guess. GSM is still so new to me. 3G 2G GSM 850 900 1900 WCDMA Ah! . Whatever the case as long it works.
