So, we've done this on other forums but how tough is the eXpo? Still waiting for my Invisible Shield and nervous as hell about destroying my dragon. Today I was repairing emergency lightbars on top of Crown Victorias. I'm only 6'2" and to reach to the center of our ancient Federal-Mogul Vision lightbar I have to stand on the sill of the rear door. I had my dragon in my shirt pocket, 'cause that's where he lives, and when I stepped down from the door sill Apophis got hooked on the corner of the lightbar's base and fell to the concrete shop floor. I was horrified. Apophis sustained minimal injury, a few light scratches near the micro usb port. The screen is still pristine and he didn't even pop open. Definitely tougher than the Incite and maybe even as tough as Chuck Norris.

Edit: Just wanted to apologize to my northern brothers for my blatant favoritism.

Hey nice story hehe, I mean it turned out ok.

I leave my phone in my top-box at work myself, I used to build small diesel engines, some had a hand crank starter(Gear reduction), and if you had anything in your breast pocket and the engine backfired, you stood a good chance of having that Bic pen or screwdriver shoved through bottom of chin into your head from the swinging handle, so now, only my smoke reside in breast pocket at work.

Also seen a fella loose his mag light from his breast pocket while tuning a blown 460, fan an the mag light redecorated under the cowling for about 10 seconds then exited through lower passenger fender across floor and shot through dry wall an landed in the parts room, still worked just looked like a porcupine from the fan blades hitting it lol.

My phone, one fall, in case, leather slip style, landed on top end with power button, 2 itty dents in chrome trim, all good so far.

 Wink

not on an expo.... but LONG ago i had a nokia (something, i can't remember) and i left it on top of my jeep....and stayed there for about 3 miles and when i finally hit 60MPH.... i hear a clunk sound and from the rear view see it hit the road, split into 3 pieces and run over by my sister's car.... it was now an ugly nokia, but still worked. after that, i fear dropping all my phones!

my wife has managed to break 3 hard cases on MY smartphones by dropping them consistantly, but her iphone is prestine somehow... Huh

I was closing my car door with my eXpo in my hand and dropped (read: slung) it in the process. Fell about 4 ft onto concrete and slid another 3 or 4 ft. Almost had a heart attack lol! Has a nick in chrome trim at top and bottom on left side and a scratch at bottom left of keyboard. Still works perfectly!

When I first got mine I was using my Incite carrying case that attaches to my belt. The carrying case spun (case wasn't suppose to spin, but it was worn from use) on me and my phone hit the concrete floor. This happened three times. I ended up with a few scratches by the power button and two scratches on the sliver trim finish on the bottom of the phone. I didn't have an InvisibleShield yet since they hadn't come out yet. The back of the phone started to pop off the sencond and third time it fell, but it popped right back on.

As an owner of an Incite, I am not too surprised that eXpos are so tough. My Incite used to go out drinkin' and fall off the bar about once a month. Ruined a couple of hard cases and it got a couple of scratches. It has also lost the micro usb cover. The Incite's biggest weakness is how easy it is to scratch the screen, easily fixed with a screen protector. The eXpo doesn't have that mirrored coating and the screen is much more resistant to scratching.

The first week I had my Expo, it slipped out of my shirt pocket getting out of my car in the rain - naturally, the day before my soft case for it arrived in the mail. It fell about 3 feet to the wet asphalt of the parking lot, then slid about 3 more feet sideways, screen-side down. I was horrified.

Fortunately I had already put on a screen protector so the screen was undamaged, but the top right corner of the chrome trim, right above the memory card slot, had several scratches and one good divot (approx 2mm long) taken out of it, exposing the darker plastic beneath. Other than this cosmetic damage, which my soft case covers, the phone is still perfect, like nothing had happened at all.

My 19yo Stepdaughter used my phone (I didn't know she took it) to call a friend of hers.
And then...HORROR!! While putting on her face (makeup) she knocked MY phone down in the toilet. When I found out what happened I was so pissed I almost went through the roof. Angry
Thank god I had insurance....Phone was replaced no questions asked.

Now SHE pays her own cell phone bill! Grin

Yeah when its not done by ones own self, it's not as easy to deal with initially.

Good story, glad it all washed out for you in the end  Grin Grin

Was riding my motorized bicycle with the GPS turned on and sitting in the basket (at least 3ft. high) to measure speed accurately.  Hit 35MPH and then a bump ~ out she hops and falls to the pavement, behind me.  Bounced and skidded for who-knows-how-long before leaving the $10-$15 Walmart Bodyglove case and continued to skid on its face.

I thought that was it, but the phone turned on and works fine.  It has some nice deep marks in the touchscreen and nice gouges in the plastic all around, but everything seems functionally fine, more than a couple of weeks later.

If only I could find a reasonably priced new body for my favorite phone Sad
