Do a back up with Sprite or spb or whatever it is that you use, an hard reset an try it with say, Windows media player. Then if its ok, restore your back up, and remove core player an Divx player an test, these install media codecs that are not included with the phone naturally and could be the cause. I did hard reset the phone but still had banding. I however have found out what the problem was and if anyone else has the same problem the solution is simple.
