i'd advise you to try it out  Grin

flashed last night.  actually a bit of a scare, consistently bluescreening while trying to flash on one machine, but it came through with no problems on my other laptop.  both xp , same drivers *shrug*

the rom is beautiful.  it's almost shocking the way EVERYTHING works so well.  music tab, photo album, text, email, all working just like an OEM HTC phone.  tested Garmin GPS, no problems.   got a signal lock from inside the house.

off a fresh reboot, i start off with 59MB free RAM, but that drops pretty quickly.  settles to around 25-30MB for me, which is what i got with the stock rom running mobile SPB.  not much to complain about there.  in general i feel like snapdragon is really shining through here.  all the tabs seem to come in faster without those little hesitations i see on the tilt2.

any possibility of getting my location to work in a future version?  that would finish this rom off nicely.  and me personally, would like to see 2.1.  still just not a fan of 2.5 for some reason.  i always end up going back to 2.1 on my tilt2

anyway, excellent, excellent rom.  this phone is finally what it should be.  it was bought with the hope there would someone out there with the skills and dedication to make this work.  thekingevrock does indeed rock!

Glad everything worked out for you, and your kind words are much appreciated. Have you installed LeoCpuSpeed? That'll give you even better performance.

As to your question about Sense versions, the short answer is I just don't know if I could cook it in. If you've been following this saga you'll know that I can't cook just any old Sense packages in; the one and only one set of files that I've gotten to work are those that have been unpacked from BigBoss' Sense 2016 cab. To make matters even more confusing, those files will only work if lumped together into an OEM package, and not the much more common and elegant EXT packages. My research in this area is pretty much done with, so while I can tweak every other app and dependency in an HTC dump, I can't do much to modify, much less upgrade/downgrade, the core Sense build. Hope that answers your question.

Despite the fact that all the proper packages are cooked in, I don't think My Location will ever work -- I even tried installing a virtual GPS driver with no luck. Got a few more ideas, but I'm not actively upgrading this build until there's a compelling reason.

I had the same issue with bluescreens on my xp netbook while I was trying to flash Darks v4 ROM. All I had to do was uninstall the old drivers and install the usb drivers included in his newest ROM. Worked like a charm.

I love that you guys are looking for ways around this Smiley

Unfortunately, the tool you link to seems to be of the most help to chefs who already have their EXT packages working properly -- it basically compares current packages to newly released ones and replaces only those which have been updated. A handy script, for sure, but probably not going to do the trick for coaxing EXT packages into working in my ROMs.

Privately, I have been making some progress, and I'll have something to report later today I believe. Smiley

i've a bug to report and wanted to see if anyone else was seeing the same.  i can't view mp4 files in full screen landscape in windows media player nor htc's video player.  not sure if this applies to ALL video files, only mp4 tested at this point.  the htc player does NOT like it at all and completely locks up the phone.  it appears to be attempting to play videos in landscape while the phone is in portrait mode.  WMP will play the video fine, and also in landscape, but only if the resize to full option is unchecked, which actually results in a screen size smaller than in portrait lol.  if the option is checked, i get only black screen.  can anyone confirm that this is the case?  i do have tweaker setup for autorotate on all apps which sorted out all sorts of stuff.

and also a 1/2 problem.  i cannot get any music to appear in the music tab.  it was working previously, but at some point all the music is no longer visible, the all songs tab is totally empty and the playlist says that the file/folder may have moved etc.  i tried updating the library in WMP which fixes it typically for sense, but no joy on this phone.  suggestions?

thanks!  also curious about your announcement.  whatever it may be, i'm sure it will be good  Grin

i actually scoured the web for some time looking for an updated driver but only saw v1.0 out there.  i didn't take the time to DL another 250mb file thinking it would likely be the same.  i'll have to go and get dark's V4.  if the driver itself were uploaded on here i think that would be most helpful
