^^^ thekingevrock previously said he didn't think 'my location' would ever work properly.

i haven't flashed this yet, but i noticed on the screenshot that it showed '0 missed calls' which seems strange.  typically, either there is a number of missed calls > 0, or it simply shows 'call history'.  on the beta rom, this functions as normal.  is that the screenshot just an exception or is this the way the rom currently works?  i guess i will find out tonight...

^^ lol..  lg expo forum drama   Shocked

well it's official.  this ROM really, really rocks.  couples things:

- WMP works PERFECT for me.  landscape, portrait, fullscreen, all flawless.  not sure what happened to you in your test, but i am one happy camper.  HTC album also played video, but when tapping the screen, the controls did not come up.  needed to kill via task manager.  i could care less as i never use Album for looking at video, but just testing it out and reporting.

- regarding the '0 missed calls' on the home screen, that only occurs on initial boot.  press it once and it does go away and displays 'call history' instead as normal.  so no issue there.

- for the other poster, no 'my location' doesnt work here either as expected.  i suppose that would be the icing on the cake but i am just happy to have cool weather animation on my home screen.

- regarding the dialer issue, i'm not sure if you've seen this thread, but seems to me that the issue is prexisting and lies in the base rom you've been working with, or, if i read this right, exists across the boards on any updated win os.  not as simple as i originally thought to fix.  looks like other ppl are on this as well:
http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/wm-6-5-x-and-dialer-keytone-problem/

- i have one minor bug to report.  i'm pretty sure i've seen it before on other winmo phones and can't seem to recall how i got around it.  in sounds and notifications, i want to disable screen notifications for 'connection established', but when unchecking the box and hitting ok, it seems to just kind of blip and show the default notifications screen (which shows incoming call event).  when you pull down the event menu and select 'connection established' again, the settings change has not been retained.  is there somewhere in the registry to do this manually perhaps?

other than those last two minor things, the ROM is quite literally perfect.  i saw about 65+MB off reset.  haven't played too much with it yet to see how it settles throughout the day, but my initial impression is that it will be higher than the other roms.  with woodhole's tweaker the screen is very sensitive and responsive, combined with no lags at all between tabs, everything just seems so fast and snappy.  facebook intergration works great for bringing in the contact profile pictures.  music tab was again also trouble free.

it's night and day between this and a stock rom, totally revolutionized...  yet again, thank you for the hard work!

Glad you're happy with the ROM, and thanks for the nice review Smiley

Thanks also for reporting that bug, it seems that the entire Sounds and Notifications control panel is borked. Will look into it.

For now you can adjust that in HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\8ddf46e7...
Change "Options" to 0.

you're right..  the whole notifications panel is not working, that notification just happened to be the only thing i tried.  couldn't change the ringtone either.  thanks for the reg setting, i was hoping to be able to adjust it like that -- i could care less about the gui so long as there is an actual way to change it.

2 other things i noticed last night.  there is no internet tab??  and this one is also minor, but the screen lock is no longer the slide to unlock interface, but a strange blue screen i have never seen before.  any way to change this back?

Good news, the control panel is fixed -- took me forever, but I narrowed it down to the DRM package. Will release an updated build today.
Since you could never add links to the internet tab, I found it useless. You can make it (and the stocks) tab visible in HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila.
Finally, all lockscreens were omitted to save RAM. Personally I never use them, and figure that those who do can add their own third party options.

thanks for the tips...

re: the lock screen, is the slide lock not an oem part of winmo?  i thought it was for some reason...  i'll have to look around for a cab, unless you have one handy?  i've felt that s2u2 isn't as responsive and doesnt seem as well integrated as the one i am using to seeing.

Fixed build is up.

The lockscreen is one of the core system files, like windows live and wm widgets, that I never use and thus removed. Third-party OEMs like HTC or LG can swap in their own lockscreens, but in this case LG did not.

I would think that the WinMo builds need to be identical, so you could just pull the package(s) from a copy of 21907 and cab them up.

Scratch that; I tried it myself and no go -- I think it needs to be cooked in.

I hate to be a stickler about this, but does this rom have the stuck rom's OZ IM app that allows you to use instant messenger with SMS?  I tested the one someone else provided on you're 2.5 sense rom thread, and it actually uses data.  If this rom doesn't, is there any way you could possible rip the app from the stock rom and package it as a cab?  Thanks a lot!

Sorry, this ROM does NOT contain OZ IM. Sad

Edit: Wish I could cab up the app for you, but it's not that easy. Biggest issue is LG is lazy and dumps all third party crap in one folder, making it almost impossible to figure out which files go with which programs. HTC uses the EXT method, which gives each app or driver its own package. Secondly, LG locks and hides the files so you need to edit the attributes in command line, which I forget how to do

Edit2: Just realized I could tear apart that other OZ cab to see what general files to look for. So here's the deal: find me the command line structure for changing the attributes of all files in a folder, and I'll try to build the cab for you.

cant wait to try your latest build, great work. Smiley

why i posted : you're not just looking for attrib?

remove hidden and system attributes from romdump\whatever and all subfolders (/d) and sub files (/s)
attrib -h -s c:\romdump\whatever /d /s

see attrib /? for all your options ... that's most of them Wink
