Ever since i got my phone i have had trouble with WMDC(windows mobile device center) i have win 7 x64 and never had this issue with htc devices. It seems i connect it syncs and then without any notice just disconnects i have tried the works disconnecting it uninstalling wmdc removing drivers and reinstalling it just seems to kick me off. Advanced network functionality or just serial usb same problem. I even tried manually deleting wmdc and windows media player and reinstalling them same issue. its frustrating as when i try to transfer large files it just disconnects no reason also. anyone else with similar woes? could the serialusbfn.dll be the cause for our trouble i checked out xda and they reported that its a driver issue but still if im the only one having it then maybe my computer needs a format but if im not alone please let me know cuz i lost 14% of my hair out of frustration trying to figure out what the heck is going on. i even removed my firewall and still no joy could. I am sure we can collaborate on this section to see if any successful drivers would work of course thats under the assumption only i am going insane haha,

At&t eXpo, Dragonstorm 23568, XP sp3: no trouble with active sync. But XP uses Active Sync and not WMD center. WMD center, coincidence? I think not.

I've found that the only way to maintain a solid sync connection is over Bluetooth. For transferring files, I just remove the card and use a USB reader.

I have found this to be true for myself and my Vista computer using WMDC as well.  Only bluetooth connection remains solid, and I also use a USB reader to transfer large files or do bulk transfers.

i have had an issue a few times just like this either it disconnected shortly after sync or would not even sync at all. I am also using win7 x64.  i decided to try out sync or one of my other WM phones and when that didnt work right either i knew it wasnt just the expo.
the solution that ended up solving my problem was shutting down my firewall Eset smart security.  after going through all those other hoops like uninstall drivers and WMDC and reinstalling all that it was my firewall program that was causing an issue with my sync functionality.]
hope this helps
