OK I did it too...

I dumped a Telus IQ ROM, after making one of the dumbest errors ever over and over, and looking for all sorts of weird and wonderful explanations for my troubles, I finally figured it out.  The disk on the IQ is called DSK1: not FLASHDR....DUH

The files are here if anyone wants to have a look:

Part 00 and 01
http://rapidshare.com/files/331015188/TelusIQpart00.zip.html
Part 02
http://rapidshare.com/files/331015190/TelusIQpart02.zip.html

cheers,

I don't want to burst your bubble guys, but your not going to be able to do any cooking with just a dump. We had this problem on the Incite. The way LG packages their rom are as a dz file. In order to make a rom and flash it we will need to deconstruct the dz file (which has a bunch of files that make it up), extract the os and software from flash.bin, port the os (if you are porting you have to rebuild the xip.bin manually), cook, and rebuild the dz file. We will need a base rom before cooking will be possible. However, people can now start to play with the drivers and other programs that come on the eXpo and make ports for other devices.

... but your not going to be able to do any cooking with just a dump. ....

Yup

But I hope that the work does help others to get into the drivers and software....letting people at the S Class add on for the today screen, as well as all the other goodies is sure not bad.

We don't really have the s-class UI as other phones have it, but a cooked up version for windows mobile today screen.  I have no doubt there is infinite scope for improvement.

As well this is the snapdragon, the super hot LG attempt to prove all the critics wrong.  To prove that they CAN make a worthy windows mobile device.  Who knows they may have done some things totally different with this device, from the other LG phones.  Who knows what kind of software security is on it.  Some things in the reg sure don't work the way they would have with my HTC's.

No doubt there is a long road ahead...

. Roll Eyes..but if anyone is listening...a leak of a dz sure would be nice...or a very quick update...then there would be all sorts of free help to work on improving things, and testers to give feedback...we would work hard...we promise...we promise... Grin

Sorry lost my train of though for a moment.  Sounds like if things are similar to other LG's you will have some great experience with LG to help us along when the ROM updates do come along.  I'm looking forward to it with bated breath.  And counting on experience from all over to help us.
