zalooa,

Are you porting a newer build? I noticed that you named the build folder in sys 26662. If this is the case I'd say based on what you said and the build log that your problem lies with the xip.bin.

Should my build number be the same as the EXT Build? Could i be setting something wrong somewhere else? I am sure its step e onward that there is something going awry.

I just tried your 21901 rom and it went in perfect it loaded up everything just right. I was wondering if i could see your log of a successful everius kitchen log Dark? I know its a hassle but im getting desperate ive tried 28 different times to flash it and its just not working.

make sure ur with these files are last in the build order, tho this shouldnt matter bc ext packages are after sys packages.

Why not just replaced the files that u want in the sys if ur having problems? or if that doesnt work(tho there is no reason why/how it couldnt) you could always put ur files in a cab and install them on first boot. Considering teh extent of themes these days i always install/apply htem on first boot.

Thanks for the reply Dark
The issue goes beyond applying themes after the fact
The themes cannot be installed used for example in the today screen where you can change themes i select any theme there and it wont change over. In fact there is not even a BEAM button. The icons  in the start menu are not even the right ones they are LOW resolution and half of them are the right resolution the others are not....I abandonned the cooking so much lost results and unfruitfulness Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
Im using your 21903 rom for now it works just fine ill just customize yours as much as i can. Its a clean rom by the way awesome work the only thing i would want to change is the startup shutdown stuff thats so minor too but its freaking clean and sweet. It was my objective to make it clean but u did it anyway.

zalooa,

This is the first time I've been on in two days. Jug6ernaut was the one who responded. I had this issue that your going through. It turned out that there was a problem with my xip.bin. Although that was when I was porting a newer build. Sounds like something isn't being arranged correctly in the ROM folder. You only copied the folders the tut said to right? Also make sure that there is a xip.bin file in BuiltRom\GW820\temp after you run option b in the kitchen. Also this may be a stupid question, yet I still need to ask it to make sure. Are you using the original rom that came on the phone in the Baserom folder? If you are using any of the custom roms in this folder as a base then it won't work since custom roms lack some of the contents needed to create a rom due to the cooking process.

Thanks so much for the input
To answer your questions
Yes I used the stock ROM that i found on this website it linked to LG's website
I arranged the folders just like you said. I dont want to port because i like the stock version just wanted to remove the junk all the demos the wasted space my own startup and shutdown really just basic rom so i can add all my own stuff to it later. Its just such a strange issue and I am sure it is the XIP.bin file or the ervius kitchen not compiling something right. I tried every setting there was did massive research at XDA it was a banana on the floor at the end and im a monkeys uncle cuz i couldnt figure it out. and i confirmed there is a XIP.bin file in the temp folder there is also a xip.bin file in the tools/xipport folder too it does not match in size but just a little. its like its reverting to a default wm6.5 that microsoft initially issued without LG's customizations sheesh even the medianet settings are just MISSING. its so strange.

Yup I've been trying to cook the stock rom, I mean I consider myself pretty knowledgable when it comes to computer, I mean doing programming for about 10 years and about 10 doing network administration, plus pretty much following the instructions to the T. What OS are you trying to build with? I'm using Windows 7 x64 running everything with Administration. Really can't think of what else I can try.

I am out of ideas, i can not get past platform builder, it keeps giving the error

System.ArgumentException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: 'device'  Key being added: 'device'

I got it when building, never happened b4, couldnt get rid of it. Completly redump/ported build worked randomly off and on. Now i cant get it to work at all...

I have no idea :S.
