After seeing that the expo rom url was pulled out of a network trace I decided to do the same with my IQ.

I wasn't able to find a LG_...Ship.exe, in the packets or just by guessing at urls based on expo's filename.

I was however able to find a reference to a .kdz file here
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/GW825/ATLSTN/v10c_03/V10C_03.kdz

That file is only 177MB, which iirc is considerably smaller than the expo one. I haven't had a chance to do any research, so I have no idea if that's the same format as the aforementioned DZ. :|

Extra mostly useless info:
I got that in a response to a web call when I tried to launch 'phone recovery' from the updater app menu. I had wierd issues with that app, it managed to put the phone into emergency download mode, but then lost the connection, never to regain it. Sad

I was trying this under w7 x32 home premium (as an admin - elevating as my regular user didn't even allow the updater app to see the phone). I guess I'll have to dust off the old XP laptop and try from there when I can find more time.

Nice. I was concerned that the base rom for the eXpo would give IQ owners problems flashing. With this we may be able to make a rom for the eXpo and IQ.

Had a little bit of time this morning and refused to be foiled.

Good news is, I was successful. Smiley

The KDZ is a different format.

Grab this
http://www.assembla.com/spaces/ks360/documents/cCrKUYI_4r3QndeJe5afGb/download/LG-Utils-0.4.2.zip

and use KP500-Utils to extract the KDZ

That creates a cab which contains a GW825WR.dll and DZ_GW825AT-02-V10c-302-220-NOV-08-2009+3.dz

The modified dzdecrypt from the expo post broke that down successfully. Smiley

Hey guys, nice work!

I know the dialer in the IQ is flawed compared to the dialer on the expo. As WarRaven will confirm the IQ blacks out after 15 seconds if being used on hands free and checking voicemail when nothing is pressed on the dialer pad (for that duration). The only way to bring it back is by pressing the power button. In the feedback from Tweaker I’ve heard that the Expo version doesn’t act this way. It be nice to be able to use the Expo version of the dialer instead of the IQ (they look identical but don’t act it).

When I first created Tweaker I took registry images of both the Expo and the IQ for references in the event of having to undo a reg. setting I’d be able to default back to the correct setting (if the two versions of the device differed). In building the rom’s if you need them as reference let me know and I’ll make them available. Future versions of Tweaker could also aid in tweaking the device specific to a carrier as long as those settings are stored in the registry making it possible to make one rom for both devices… Possibly.

That's interesting that is the case. I've found references to ATT on my IQ and the date on the IQ rom is later, leading me to believe it's based in at least some part on the expo rom. I wonder what they did .. maybe someone thought it'd be an improvement. Sad

Hopefully Dark will make it all better for us. Smiley

Very nice. Now we can create eXpo and IQ roms. Also I just spoke with spocky. He'll be updating his kitchen later this week. So cooking should begin soon.
