I fallowed all the instructions for windows 7 coz i use it to flash. But of no use. I have gone through thoroughly of your instructions and i tried to flash with different Roms like EXPO as well as with IQ. It's not flashing after 4% and a message the connection between phone and computer are lost. I Got fed-up. coz i tried a lot . Sounds like you are trying to flash using Vista. Are you trying to flash using Vista?

Sorry, but 99% of the time when it fails at 4% with a communication error it's because someone tried to flash using Vista. I'm thinking it may not work because the flasher isn't recognizing the model number for your phone since it is GW825v. The model number for the eXpo is GW820 and the model number for the IQ is GW825. If you can get a copy of the original flasher for the GW825v I may be able to get you a working flasher.

The only way would be through the LG updater program. Here is the link:

http://www.lgmobilephones.com/softwaredownload.aspx

You will also need the tools Jayant used to find the url of the flasher you need. You could try asking Jayant to locate it for you. Here is the thread he posted his findings:

http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/lg-expo-original-official-rom-v10d-21749-5-0-28/

Also did you try flashing the base rom for the eXpo or IQ to see if that would work?

I'd assume Jayant won't be able to find the executable without the phone as I had to dig separately for the iq rom and didn't see any reference to expo files.  Undecided

@Hared: Install Microsoft's Network Monitor** (its free - netmon from now on, im lazy Wink ) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=983b941d-06cb-4658-b7f6-3088333d062f&displaylang=en

Close all your browser windows, instant messenger, email, anything that uses the network should be stopped while you do this.

Start netmon, and tell it to capture all the traffic on your network card.

Then start the lg-updater program Dark linked you to, and have it check for updates for your phone.

...I assume it'll fail to find any updates. Go back to network monitor and stop capturing traffic.

You can then either browse through the captured traffic in netmon directly, and see if you can find a url yourself; or save the capture file and post it here and I or someone else will look through it.

**If you're familiar with wireshark you could use that instead of netmon.

I went through the network capture, and just like the IQ, there's no exe, only a kdz download ( I wonder what makes the expo so special that it gets a different treatment )

The kdz is at

http://csmg.lgmobile.com/swdata/WEBSW/GW825v/AHKGTN/V10d_00/V10D_00.kdz

From that you can extract rom in dz format and the required dll ... see http://www.lg-expo.com/lg-expo-rom-development/lg-iq-rom/ for the tools required

You should then be able to use the kitchen dark provided .... I'd ask him to take a look first as I know there's minor differences between the gw820 and gw825, so there may be something special about the 825v as well and he's the resident expert.

Hallo Dark,Thank You Very much and i hope you are fallowing my posts kindly help me with a ROM. Pleeease.

I'm downloading it now and will take a look at it. I should be able to get you a working flasher.

UPDATE: I'm uploading a flasher for your phone now. I wasn't able to flash the Hong Kong rom to my eXpo so I'm a bit worried that the flasher may not work, but we won't know until you try it. I'm looking into why I couldn't flash the Hong Kong rom now and think I know why. I'm taking apart the Hong Kong rom now and rebuilding it. If what I am thinking is correct then I should be able to flash the Hong Kong rom.

SIDE NOTE: I just couldn't resist the urge to take the Hong Kong rom apart and try it on my phone.

UPDATE 2: Here is the link:
Dragonstorm 23568 - GW25V Only

No problem. Looking forward to hearing if it works. I was able to flash the Hong Kong rom after rebuilding it. The Flash.bin inside the base rom was broken into several parts. That's why I couldn't flash it without deconstructing and then reconstructing it. I tried to port English to it since I noticed that program memory is at 99 MB with the Titanium plugin running, but it keeps making the phone freeze before it can boot for the first time. I'm probably going to play with the rom a little more tomorrow.

Dark i tried to flash it and in the flasher it downloaded entire 183.4MB file again and when it comes to update it displayed a message saying a ''FATAL ERROR has occurred and cannot update, want to contact LG''. So what could have happened i have no idea. Pleeeeeese help.
