If you are looking to re-install the base rom I found out that it can't be re-installed through the flasher program the rom is within. It checks the software version on the phone and sees that it is the same as the rom you are trying to install. However, I found a solution. Since the Incite flasher doesn't check this I took the Incite flasher and placed the eXpo rom in the flasher. I changed some of the files that the flasher was pointing to to the ones that are for the eXpo and repacked the flasher. I ran the flasher and it installed to my phone. Here is the repacked flasher for the eXpo and IQ for those that want to flash the base rom.

eXpo:
http://www.mediafire.com/?bmmoidmymfj

IQ:
http://hotfile.com/dl/33211312/b9c9f5e/IQ_ROM.exe.html

The flasher is set to install under windows 7. If you are using xp changed the install path to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

If you are installing under windows 7 remember to set the flasher to xp compatibility mode and to run as an admin.

WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH USING VISTA. IT WILL NOT WORK AND YOUR PHONE WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION. YOU WILL NEED TO GET TO AN XP OR WIN7 COMPUTER IF YOU TRY TO FLASH UNDER VISTA.

Is this it? A base rom or custom rom You doing two things and well it's confusing me. Is this separate from what we are discussing?
Do I just run the exe. or will i need the flasher before I unpack it. Active sync the phone to pc. You stated you were going to do a tutorial. So should I wait that until then?

Yea I was reading those posts. Great that you have it in normal operation. Trying to find that right lg modem driver for you and they have five types, I don't even know which and how many lg modem driver I have.  I running vista 64 bit and my modem driver had to be written for me just so it appears on my device manager and so forth.

Actually, When I unpacked the rom, I tried to install it but it didn't find my phone. It actually gave me an option to download this one specific driver called the "LG SP Modem Driver," something like that. After installing, the rom installed itself and fixed my phone.

Glad to hear that your phone is working again. To answer M240-A1's question; this is just the base rom. The flasher that it was packed into would not flash the rom to the phone since it was detecting that the firmware was already up to date. I repackaged it so that it doesn't check to see if the latest firmware is installed. When the custom roms come out they will have to be packaged the same way.

Dark, Wtg dude. You saved Igothacked's phone!!

I would hazard you deserve a cookie or two for that effort Grin

Good show guys, very happy for you.

Side bonus, you have already mapped out flashing the Rom on the IQ/Expo.

Thanks. I'm just glad to help. I have the IQ base rom up now too. It hasn't been tested since I have an eXpo and it would recognize my phone since my model # is GW820 and the IQ's is GW825, but it should work. I was a little curious last night so I tricked the eXpo flasher into thinking I was using an eXpo rom and managed to flash the IQ rom to my eXpo. It think the same can be done to flash the eXpo rom to the IQ. The only thing is my MediaNet setting needed to be add manually. I know in 6.5.3 the OS detected the SIM card and asked if you wanted to setup internet settings. I guess this wasn't a feature in plain old 6.5.

That's pretty sweet, nice work!

Did you notice any differences with the IQ rom from what you're used to?

Just minor things. Like the startup and shutdown animations. There was an app in the LG menu for google that included the gmail app. No AT&T navigator of course. I don't see the 3G icon in the taskbar. There was had an H in instead. I'm not remember what it stands for at the moment, but I'm sure it will come to me soon. Finally, having to enter MediaNet settings manually because it is setup to Telus by default. Other than that they seem fairly the same.

EDIT: Now I remember. The H stands for either HSDPA or HSUPA.

Just to touch on that a little I think,

Correct me if I'm wrong, though from what I've gathered, the Icons should be,
showing 3G, when data is not active and
showing H when Data is active.

I'm not sure on this since my phone always has the 3G icon.

I think all eXpo's are like that. Even enabling HSDPA from the kaiser tweaker won't show the icon.

Nice work Dark

Hi, the "H" stands for HSDPA which is what Windows Mobile is supposed to say by default. ATT makes the manufacturers change it to 3G because it only confuses the end users to see an "H". This was a problem with the Sony Ericsson w760. Lots of complaints about it.

If you see an "H" dont sweat is, its 3G....
