I'm taking a poll. I know LG Idles takes up quite a bit of space. My question is should it be included in the custom roms. I put a poll up for everyone to cast their vote.

No.  I'd like to see a ROM with Sense 2.5.  Some of the other LG stuff I'd like to keep though like the LG dialer with it's ringing animation and use of proximity sensor to black out the screen when held close and light up when you pull it away.  The LG calculator is nice as well as some of the things in the LG menu (if we could customize the LG menu to get the bloat out of it that would be fantastic).  LG photo album isn't bad either and the FM radio application.  The LG MMS handler is pretty too and works pretty well.  The Sprite backup included with the device works great as well as it backs up installed programs and everything else and makes getting the phone set back up after a hard reset take about 2 minutes.

Eviltuna, LG Idles is LG's Gui.

The default one, with the little today screen.

Oh yeah, the expo comes with Sprite doesn't it, Well that should be kept, I could even add SPB to it.

Imo, First ROM, should be Clean, can always add to it, can't always take away from it easily.

In that case, clean is definitely the way to go. The LG UI kinda sucks.

There are some other ridiculously large files sucking up space also from LG on the phone (in the windows directory) such as:

cal.pak / 35.2MB / LG Calendar Application?
contacts.pak / 23.7MB / LG Contacts Application?
StartUpAni.... / 19.0MB / Startup Animation
ShutDownAni... / 15.4MB / Shutdown Animation
Monaco.WMV / 10.0MB / Phone Tutorial Video

...

There is TON of other crap in there too like the Demo of Monopoly and  LG Alarm and other JUNK.  I bet it's easily about 150MB of pure worthless garbage.

The thing that bugs me the most is the free program memory.  My wife has a Samsung Intrepid on Sprint and she has les RAM but always has 120MB or more free program memory.  I'm lucky if I have 25MB free on my eXpo.

No.

I say lets go bare bones and grab as much of the core OS as possible and have that run as optimized as possible. It seems there are far better things to add in later.

Deff a No. With the amount of resource it takes up. I do agree to putting SPB on there!

I also agree with keeping the LG Dialer, and LG Alarms(I prefer LG Alarms over the WM alarms), Spirt backup, the FM Radio App... Besides that, get ride of all that junk that we don't use.

Correct my if I'm wrong but I don't think SPB Shell can be included in a ROM due to it not being freeware?
