Under start menu->settings there's a link called AT&T software updates. I checked it a few times every time it says there's no update.

I doubt we'll be able to get WinMo 7 upgrades over-the-air when it becomes available, but I wonder if we would be able to get minor version upgrades, say to WinMo 6.5.3 or 6.6. WInMo 6.5.3 has more finger friendly features such as moving the close button "X" to a tool bar at the bottom of the screen.

what do you all think?

Davi23,

this feature has been available on Win Mob since well before v6 and I have never seen it used on likely 6 different phone models. Just keep checking in here and you will get the earliest access (maybe sooner than most public) possible.

Hey guys, yeah the Update option is completly removed on the IQ version of the phone.

This made me curious, and i found in the registry, that "Over the air updates" are set to force mode.

So, If, Windows released a small fix, we'll all get it right away type of thing behind the scenes.

When it comes to the next ROM, we'll be flashing alright, the stock one will be as simple as plugging in to your pc, waiting for active synce to calm and then run the ROM upgrade utility that will come with it.

For the hot rod custom cooked ROM versions we will eventually get, It'll be laid out for us an what we would have to do.

WM7, I originally thought this phone would fly it, now, the screen mininum entry point may screw us out of a official WM7 ROM, Though we have talented cooks that may be able to make it run on our phones once its out an about.

Imo though, the last "Official ROM" we'll get will be under WM7, Probably the 6.5.3 you mentioned up to 6.5.9 somewhere.(Hate to say it, but it looks like we don't meet min spec for WM7)

The screen Size and Ram as far as we know at this point, these specs may be, the minimum for the "Media Edition" and Not the "Business Edition" for all we really know.

I'm pulling for, we have enough to meet the BE requirements, other wise we may need a modified cooked rom... not that'd be bad  Grin

13 days till MS gives us a taste of whats to come.

Kinda off topic from the original over the air updates bit, searching for windows phone 7 should find you lots of info ... engadget has a great look at it here

WP7 looks sweet although

1) It requires multi-touch - no upgrade for gw82X
2) No official upgrade for anyone (even the htc hd2)
3) No backwards compatibility - the new "userland" is silverlight
4) No external storage - looks like the only way to get apps is off the marketplace
5) No copy and paste - WTF?!
